On the surface it would seem so but looking deeper, what has really hurt the Panthers is Cam Newton's "stalled development" as a QB. He still has trouble reading defenses, arm accuracy is mediocre at best and relies way too much on his athletic ability when his primary is covered and still just takes off.

Two years ago when the Chiefs came back and won that game in Carolina, in reality IF Cam was truly developing the Chiefs had no business winning that game because Newton should have been dismantling us big time. But he still doesn't know how to dismantle a defense with his physical talent and offensive fire power he has around him pure and simple.

Cam Newton has more playoff wins in the last four years than the Chiefs have in the last 24.

But it did? The Panthers didn't make the playoffs and dealt with bad CB play.

Veach is doing the kinds of things I have long hoped for. He's been aggressive and somewhat ruthless. They are getting young, fast, and, hopefully, tougher. He's also managing the cap. This is needed and overdue.

I'm not happy about this, but I think a lot of stuff will come out in the next few months. I don't want to completely lose my shit until I know more information.

Mellinger's take is moronic, and it's not a hot take. "KC fans are racist, and Clark wants to appease them' is the dumbest take one could possibly have over this. That requires a LOT of uncharitable assumptions.

I tend to agree with you on this. I'm not a happy camper about this trade, but we don't know what was behind the curtain. Maybe Peters was threatening to hold out, it wouldn't be the first time a player under contract has done so. Maybe some of the team leaders decided he was a cancer in the locker room and went to Veach. I'm just not buying it's all racism here. Yeah, we have a lot of idiot fans, but I'll bet there are plenty in just about every stadium.

Sam is a smart, likable and funny guy, but he is totally wrong here. Try this analogy. A man is dating a woman with a beautiful face, great body and is also a wonderful lover. However her personality is obnoxious. How long could this last? Possibly a year and if he is really lustful maybe several more. Most sane men would eventually become tired of her crap and move on.

Melllinger is fairly decent when it comes to the Royals, KU basketball and some Mizzou football.

Otherwise, for a guy that’s supposed to be connected to the city, his NFL takes, especially regarding the Chiefs, are way off base.

He thought the 2016 Chiefs were 7-9, 8-8.

Like Peter King, he has sources and connections but his prognosticating his laughable.

Mellinger is meh. He’s hard to listen to on 810 too.

Terez is the only one worth a shit.

Compensation is the issue with me.

If we get significantly below value I'll be pissed...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

What is your value based on? On field productivity or on and off-field productivity? If it is the former you are going to be pissed. If it is the latter the trade will make sense. Chiefs will probably receive a 2nd round value for him... so a 3+4 this year or maybe a 1st next year.
