Does this Chiefs team have a good chance to win the SuperBowl?

Losing Gronk is gonna hurt NEs chances.

KC already beat Denver and Oakland in their houses.

KC is getting Maclin, Nelson and Ford back...and might get Jamaal Charles back for the playoffs.

If KC takes care of business in the division and splits with ATL/Tenn, they have a real chance to get HFA. That happens, this team can beat anyone in the AFC at Arrowhead.

If they make it to the Super Bowl, they have a good chance to take down Dallas, Atlanta or Seattle.

Do you guys think this season has a good chance to end with the Lombardi trophy coming to KC?

Smith is only one part of it. Reid is just as big of a problem as Smith is.

The team's measurables on both sides of the ball are mediocre at best

QB play has been degrading as the year goes on

We are facing two difficult games in 5 days, and a loss in either one would more or less end our chances of being the 2 seed. This team isn't going to win two road games in the playoffs with such a terrible offense.

We have glaring problems in the secondary outside of Peters that well-quarterbacked teams are going to exploit. (Trevor Siemien lit them up for 368 yards, even while Houston was running wild)

We have no easy games left on the schedule except perhaps for San Diego, which is still a road game.

It isn't that the Chiefs are terrible, it's that despite a fairly good roster, having an offense and defense ranked in the 20s and a mediocre QB means you are emphatically not a contender, even if your record is flattering you at the moment.

I think in order to have a chance to get to the Super Bowl we have to get homefield advantage. I know even that's not guaranteed if we get it, but it increases our chances. The only way this team has a chance WITHOUT HFA is if we get to play Brian Hoyer every game. The offense will be this season's demise as per usual under the Chiefs Reid era.

10% at best. I would say that's not a good chance.

I just doubt we can string enough good games together in the playoffs.

One shit game and you're done

Hard to believe that we won't shit the bed in one game.

The team's record is good but if you look at Reid individually, every week, Reid is a net negative.

Reid never won anything in Philadelphia outside of making 1 Bowl appearance for these reasons. He has never changed. He gets out coached a lot. He's not a good play caller or game manager. Almost all the time this kills you in the postseason because the games are often close enough for every little thing to matter.

This team has managed a good record so far, through a mix of turnovers, luck, and improbable heroics.

The Chiefs are not really good against the run or the pass. They generate a pass rush which produces sacks, hurries, and turnovers. The Chiefs don't have a traditionally great defense in the sense of a defense that is good at stopping opponents from moving the ball.

This model is not sustainable.

Eventually you have to win a game straight away, with offense and defense and this team doesn't do that. We have very little offense and a defense that rides totally on big plays. The Chiefs can essentially only win one way, as it stands.

Championships are won in the trenches with consistency play to play and with greatness and balance in all phases. They are won by coaches and preparedness and game plans. They are won with consistently high levels of QB play.

This team is a prototypical regular season juggernaut, a classic case of Chiefish 12-4 or 13-3 with a first round exit.

Except for that whole 5 straight NFCCG game thing. You're right.

Today's game gives me confidence for this team going forward.

Oakland will have a shorter week to practice, having to travel and all.

We might have Maclin back against Denver.

Gotta push through and win this division

"You're not going to beat good quarter.....defen......teams....uh, on the ro.....

For ****s sake people, the Chiefs have as good a chance as anyone. No, the Raiders, Broncos and Falcons aren't going to just get better in the playoff, said switch is not a thing. Those are 3 very different, very good teams with only one common thread - the Chiefs beat them in their own barn.

This team has beat HoF quarterbacks, elite defenses, former MVPs, present MVP favorites, great offenses, great defenses, at home and on the road.

All the teams and all the things the Chiefs can't do, they've done.

This team is capable of beating anyone out there - ANYONE. Will they? Smart money says no but the smart money is always on 'the field'. The Chiefs have as good a shot as anybody and this board is just 50% whipped curs that are too gunshy to acknowledge that this is a good ****ing football team.
