Time to call your shot - predict the Chiefs' 2015 record for the season

We've seen about as much as we're gonna see of the team before the games count. I always think it's fun to lock in your predictions before the season. Assuming we can find this thread again in a few months, it will inevitably be bumped to either laugh at or cry about.

Here's the schedule:

Sun, Sep 13 @ Texans 11:00 AM
Thu, Sep 17 vs Broncos 6:25 PM
Mon, Sep 28 @ Packers 6:30 PM
Sun, Oct 4 @ Bengals 11:00 AM
Sun, Oct 11 vs Bears 11:00 AM
Sun, Oct 18 @ Vikings 11:00 AM
Sun, Oct 25 vs Steelers 11:00 AM
Sun, Nov 1 vs Lions 7:30 AM
(bye)
Sun, Nov 15 @ Broncos 2:25 PM
Sun, Nov 22 @ Chargers 6:30 PM
Sun, Nov 29 vs Bills 11:00 AM
Sun, Dec 6 @ Raiders 2:05 PM
Sun, Dec 13 vs Chargers 11:00 AM
Sun, Dec 20 @ Ravens 11:00 AM
Sun, Dec 27 vs Browns 11:00 AM
Sun, Jan 3 vs Raiders 11:00 AM

(Yeah, I'm in a thread-starting mood. Bite me.)

Here's the gods-honest truth:

The Chiefs NEED a playoff win. More than any other team in the entire NFL, I believe. If they manage to eke one out with Smith, so be it.

That said, it is infuriating to see a team as loaded as KC has been( and will become even more so under Dorsey ), continue to be denied true greatness( and performance/playoff consistency )because some ass hat in the coaching, FO, or ownership box continues, for far too long, to choose the safe route in filling the QB position.

People like OTWP didn't leave because of some jank-ass nonsense about poster/content conflicts. They left because they got sick and ****ing tired of watching the Chiefs shoot themselves in the ass by being cowards regarding the man behind Center, and then listening to the usual bevy of apologists make excuses about it.

In any event, Dorsey will not **** around with this conflict for too much longer that I know. He'll see his guy, and he'll move whatever mountain it takes to get him.

In short, I'm more jazzed about the future than the present.

Even if your horrific attempt to credit those clowns with being the reason for not allowing a 300 yard passer WAS in fact in all seriousness, your complete lack of acknowledgement of one of the most monstrous pass rushes in the entire ****ing league is beyond criminal.

You don't get many 300 yard passers when the QB is busy getting knocked down, sacked, or hurried into dumpoffs.

Theres no "scheme" behind letting Tamba Hali and Justin Houston off the leash to get after the QB. Its just something that ANY DC in the league with half a moving brain cell does as much as possible.

Actually I wasn't crediting them. I was pointing out the amazement at which the Chiefs were able to stifle passing games while using a bum like Chris Owens a rookie in Gaines and a fringe NFL player in Fleming. But okay, the entire defense was all Houston and Hali. But tell me something champ. How many sacks did Hali and Houston have of Peyton?

1 in the last 4 games and Manning turned on the speed and left Hali standing holding his jock in the last match up.

Us sacking Manning isn't a conversation we can really talk about.

In the two games last year in game one Hali sacked Peyton, and in game two Houston sacked him once. Wallcrawler seriously jumped the shark. Of course the pass rush is the main thing for the Chiefs. But still the job the secondary to not allow a 300 yard passer or a pass play over 50 yards is impressive.

Agreed, but in a lot of cases, he barely escaped. Father time has caught up and with DJ and Berry back in the mix, I fully expect to see his ass on grass.

And perhaps even more than once.

Wait we had 2 sacks? For the Chiefs that is legendary.

Well champ, If we actually WON either of those contests, you might have a ****ing point worth debating here. But since we didn't, Im wondering why the hell you would bring up Peyton, when he made the ENTIRE defense, (led by your...ahem.."Top 10 Schemer" Bob Sutton)look completely inept.

Could it be that his complete lack of ability to make any kind of adjustment to the 1.5 second passes that Peyton repeatedly put up was the very reason for the failure of the defense?

Hmmmm...

Don't think about that too hard. Wouldn't want you hurting yourself.

Well guy, the Chiefs didn't lose either of those games because of the defense. So I really don't know what has your asshole so raw. If you don't like Sutton just say you don't like Sutton. Just stop ragging.

The defense minus DeVito and DJ held the broncos in Denver under 300 yards. Which is impressive.

There will be games we should win and don't and vice versa. 10-6, maybe 11-5 if they get on a hot streak. I see the game in London ****ing them up a bit.

Sutton feasts on the weaker opponents and gets his afternoon jello served to him by Manning.

Until be stops Manning, not much can be said.

He's quick on release, no doubt. You have to disrupt his targets, throw the timing off, and catch him up the middle while making sure at least one OLB is operating fairly traffic-free. Not an easy task.

Don't tell me. Tell Sutton. He's the one completely lost and confused on jello day.

17/34 179 yards and a 52 qb rating in the second game last year. How much more can the Chiefs d be asked to do?
