Panthers rescind franchise tag on Norman, now UFA

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300...on-josh-norman

Quote:
The Philadelphia Eagles' trade up to the No. 2 of the NFL Draft is suddenly not the most surprising news of the day. Josh Norman is now a free agent.

The Carolina Panthers announced the stunning news Wednesday that the team has rescinded the franchise tag for cornerback Josh Norman, making him an unrestricted free agent.

"After a number of conversations with Josh's agent we realized that a long-term deal was not attainable," general manager Dave Gettleman said. "We have decided to rescind the Franchise Tag freeing Josh to immediately become a UFA. We thank Josh for all his contributions and truly wish him well."

Around the NFL will have more on this story soon.
I wish....

You seem nice.

They have to give a reason why they don't get near the SB next year.

Their defense will be lacking

Redskins have made a "very legit" offer for free agent Josh Norman.

Per La Canfora, the 49ers' interest is also "very strong." The Redskins have the need, but also roughly $40 million less in cap space than the 49ers. If the Niners are serious, they will be hard to match. The move would be out of character for Washington GM Scot McCloughan, who has been very quiet through his first two Redskins free agencies.

The Redskins have been doing okay lately. The last thing they need is to waste huge money on a FA CB.

Stick with the process.

Washington signing Norman keeps him out of Dallas and NY.

Not really "lighting someone up" and the Panthers won the game and obj got suspended for a game and should have been kicked out of that one Norman was so in his head...

I was being ironic for comedic purposes, but I obviously failed miserably.

Why would he go back and why would another team not sign him for more than the panthers were willing to?

This is the same NFL where Brandon Carr got $50 million...
