Geno Smith vs Alex Smith - It's on.

It's on now. Geno Smith is probably going to be starting for the Jets this season.

Alex Smith will be the Chiefs QB for the forseeable future. If he's a success, we'll probably get five good years out of him.

So who's gonna win more NFL games over that time period?

Put your ten pounders on the table and make a vote

Alex: 11 wins
Geno: 8 wins

Everyone from Reid and Dorsey on down has talked about his leadership. For that matter so did everyone in SF when he was there. Alex Smith is a leader, and pretty much everyone outside the CP crybaby crew knows that.

So, again, what positive impact has Alex Smith's leadership had on this team?

I mean, we've never heard similar things about previous QBs. Most notably, our last broke dick was praised repeatedly for organizing off-season workouts.

Still speculation unless you're in the locker room. For all anyone knows, it could simply be lip service.

It seems to be a pretty universal opinion dating back for years on two different teams. There must be something about it. You don't see the same thing happening with Phillip Rivers or a number of other QBs with poor leadership skills. It typically becomes well known when a QB isn't a good leader.

Not at all. Smith's leadership is well documented but the effect on the team isn't evident yet since they haven't played a game that counts.

So was Matt cassels.

I'd wait to see how it translates to wins before I start getting to hard

Then how has his leadership been a huge offseason success? A success of what?

How exactly does Rivers has poor leadership skills? The reports I've read have been that his teammates love him. The guy played a playoff game with a torn ACL.

Seriously, please link these reports and/or quotes from former/current players talking about Rivers poor leadership qualities. I'd love to read them.

It's all rival fan "perception".

Rival fans see him as a "whiny, crybaby" because he gets emotional on the sidelines. They have no idea what happens in the locker room.

I know for a fact that Weddle loves him. I'm sure the other guys in the locker room do as well.

For all of the Chargers shortcomings during his career, Phillip Rivers has been the least of their problems.

What we see as a whiny ass behavior just means he actually cares about his craft and isn't there just to collect a paycheck.

I'd like to see people legitimately argue against having Rivers as KC's QB.
