So, I didn't see a thread started, and all the others are pretty maxed out to the point where a fresh thread would be needed soon either way.

Time to share the run up to ST & and another memorable year in the making!

This. And I don't believe that the ATL brass would be looking to fleece GMDM out of more than that. Based on payroll expectation rumors earlier in the offseason, we have room to offer him an extension, potentially, as well. Upton is the guy I want, but I don't see it happening.

Melky would be a good get for KC. But out your price range I've seen.

Is KC gona trade for a starter?

Detroit relying on Annibal Sanchez being healthy. He's been hurt multiple times before and he will be 31. He hasn't ever gone 200 innings. They are losing 425 excellent IP from Sherzer/Porcello which they absolutely cannot replace internally (they will make up for some of that having Price all year). Pen is abysmal

They committed so many $ to Cabrera-Verlander-Sanchez-Martinez that they don't have any $ left. When you add Price & Kinsler they are entering Yankee territory for a 3rd world profile (super rich and super poor)

My guess right now would be trading for a bat and signing a free agent SP. Might end up being more of a lotto ticket type guy they try to get through at least a few months with while they wait for Zimmer or Binford or Finnegan to be ready for the MLB rotation.

I'm sure they wouldn't take that, because they don't need bullpen help. But yeah. I'd do that.

Would probably be better off trying to move a reliever for another SP and moving that player plus the prospect. More likely to entice the Braves...

He's coming off of the best season of his career, but it took him until age 33 to get there...which isn't usually a good sign. Gave up quite a few HR's in 2014, but that number will drop due to the bigger ballpark.

He's no Scherzer. I'm with Duncan on this. They haven't taken a step forward with these moves...it's likely a push. Look for them to be a little better offensively with Cabrera healthy, but to stay about the same in the rotation and maybe regress a bit. Hard to see their pen being any worse, but they've done nothing to address it, so anything's possible.

Once again, we're going to have to work our asses off to be in the division race at the end.

KC is going to continue to swing and miss, just like their hitters are keen on doing.

I also think there's absolutely NO WAY Victor Martinez hits that well again, especially for that kind of power.

Castellanos probably improves. JD Martinez? Who knows. That still seems very fluky to me.

I think they're worse, as constructed, right now than at the end of last season.

Price/Verlander/Sanchez/Simon/??? is a huge step down from Scherzer/Price/Verlander/Sanchez/Porcello (and I don't even think that much of Porcello). Bullpen is still a mess.

Offense probably is about the same. Cespedes is a big name, but Torii Hunter was actually a more productive hitter last season. Cabrera probably gets a bit better but has that offset by a worse season from Victor Martinez.

I understand being this cynical and bitter about the Chiefs. I pretty much am.

But a team that just won its league and played in the Super Bowl? What's the deal, man?

I don't think the Braves would be too excited about a reliever. They have a very good bullpen and they have one of the best, if not the best, closer in baseball. I think they want Duffy or Ventura. Just like they got Shelby Miller. In a couple years when they open their new stadium they'd have a nice rotation of Teheran, Alex Wood, Miller and Duffy/Ventura. That's what they're thinking.
