Veach killed this draft

Mecole Hardman
Juan Thornhill
Khalen Saunders
Rashad Fenton
Darwin Thompson
Nick Allegretti

Man what a ****ing great draft this appears to be. The top 4 players have been really good and have shown potential the last few games.

I did not expect Saunders or Fenton to be ready this year but here they are playing well against good QB’s.

Major props to Veach. This really makes up for last years horrible draft

Trubisky isn’t playing better than Mahomes and Watson while also being 2 years younger. That’s a big deal and you seem to be glossing over it like it isn’t.

Darnold has much more room to grow and he’s already looking like the better player in year 2. That’s why it’s obvious who the Browns should’ve selected IMO.

I know a lot saw Ward was good but still a lot of people wanted a big name CB to take his place for the time being and have him be a rotational guy, that’s what I mean by sticking with him cause he looks like a legit #1 CB option in the future.
Gotcha. That makes more sense, because our D wouldn’t be playing this dominant with Ford instead of Clark. No way. Guys like Clark with his size, length, power, and speed are far and few between and won’t be available where we draft each year. I also think if he stays healthy he’s going to continue to grow into a perennial all pro level player.

Ward has some growing to do, but the kid wants to be great. I follow him on twitter and he is humble and loves the game. His pinned tweet is him saying, “I want to be great so bad.” Love the kid, and look forward to having him holding down a CB spot for years to come. Lock that kid up Veach.

I definitely agree with that, Clark is way better against the run for sure. What I’m trying to say I guess is I just think we either gave up a little too much in the deal than we could have or possibly got too little for Ford but in the grand scheme but I wouldn’t change a thing about having Clark instead of Ford.

There’s a lot to be excited about with our DB core for the future.

Young corps of Mathieu/Thornhill and Ward/Fenton/Fuller. I’m pretty excited to see how great of a group they become with a couple more years together and I’m really glad I’m hindsight we didn’t trade 2 firsts for Ramsey and fk all that up.

Fuller may be done after this year as he’s an unrestricted free agent and last week played mainly at the safety hybrid position. If he’s enjoying Spags D maybe he resigns for a reasonable amount, but I have a feeling he gets more in free agency for some team that overpays ala Steven I can’t turn my head Nelson. I’d love to keep him for the right price.

? Trubisky is 25. He was born in August '94.
Mahomes is 24. 13 months younger.

I'm not sure what your point is.

I said Trubisky isn’t 2 years younger than those guys. I’m referring to Darnold. He’s 2 years younger than Mayfield.

Both QB’s have shit for coaching which is sad bc they both really do have potential.

Dorsey is as big of a problem as Baker and this is why:

Oh.

Well, if he's not ready to play they shouldn't have played him.

I mean I personally think the Chiefs handled Mahomes in the perfect manner. I don't think I'd EVER start a rookie.

It's his second season at any rate, and he ought to be ready to play.

In my (again) admittedly small sample size (because who gives a **** about the Jets?) I don't see much to make me think he's legit.

You think Mayfield's a douchebag and don't want to consider that Kitchens is a dumpster fire of a coach and factor that in, so I don't know, I guess we're even?

anyway, time will ultimately tell.

I’m not suggesting that Darnold shouldn’t have been playing at all. I’m just pointing out that he’s 22 years old in a shit situation and was still better than Mayfield this year.

We’ll just have to agree to disagree at this point. I don’t think either guy is going to be successful barring drastic changes, just think Darnold is a better bet and always have.

The Mahomes sitting thing worked out because they had alex but in general, I have kinda flipped to where I think guys need to play. You can only learn so much sitting and you burn a year on the rookie qb contract

fair enough.

I think drastic changes are very likely in Cleveland and probable in NY, so we'll see.

Yeah I’d prefer to not play them at all in the first 10 games of their rookie year TBH. They don’t have enough practice time or time to learn the playbook.

I hate it when most teams just throw QB’a out there the 1st month. 99% of those guys are not ready and you’re hurting them bc you’re limiting the playbook.
