Possibly getting married, what do I need to know about a prenup
No kids, only have cat, but have multiple properties and liquid assets. Plan on filing separately even if get married. What do I need to know?

We are the exact same way on Valentine's day. If you take time throughout the year you won't feel pressure to spend way too much money or any on that day. I don't have to get chocolates or flowers. We will typically make sure that's a day we cook dinner together at home. Definitely don't go out and overspend on dinner. This started well before marriage too.

I think our first year together we went out, but quocklu realizes it was too crowded, stressful, and expensive and for no reason other than its a made up holiday. Like yours, my wife is practical and understands the value of saving money. I do believe the random surprises throughout the year are a must though. Just something as simple as picking up her favorite candy or snack when getting gas goes a long ways.

a lot of my friends elope or just have 10-15 people at a place like a park with an amazing view, and then go to a nice dinner afterwards while using the money on a nice honeymoon and a down payment for their house.

I'll never understand people who throw away 30k on a damn wedding.
