My next tournament: top candies.

I'm sitting here enjoying a nice Skittle, and I really think Skittles are underrated.

But maybe they're not. Maybe I'm just chocolate-biased and the rest of the world ranks Skittles accurately. Who knows? But it may be time to find out.

Propose some candies to be included in the tournament. According to google, candy is defined as:

a sweet food made with sugar or syrup combined with fruit, chocolate, or nuts.

I'll hone the definition a little more for this tournament, as follows:

1. It can be purchased in package form. So the fudge that you get at that little store on the Jersey shore doesn't count.

2. It's readily available on a national level. So the handmade lollipops with the scorpion inside that you got at Tombstone don't count. If you can make an argument that a widely available candy that is not branded should be included (e.g., chocolate covered cashew clusters), I'll consider the argument, but if possible, point out a prominent maker and include a photo per the rules below.

3. It is often purchased in a grocery store, convenience store, movie theater, or other retail outlet. So the homemade mint drops that you made from that Facebook recipe don't count.

4. For the purposes of this poll, we will eliminate gum from consideration. Gum isn't really candy.

For the purposes of submission, be as specific as possible. For example, "M&M's" doesn't count. Are they plain, peanut, peanut butter, or those disgusting pretzel ones? Also, you must post a photo that will be the official entry photo for that item.

Any questions?

I will begin with the nomination of the venerable York Peppermint Patty.

Seriously, you are a douche if you hand out any of the following for Halloween:

Mounds
Almond Joys
The awful Peanut Butter things
Popcorn balls
Apples
Pencils

Just shut your goddamn light off and save kids the aggravation.

Rexall and Katz drug stores always had these at front counter and they were damn good. Sadly don't know if they are around anymore but they should be.
