Ironically maybe the worst interview I have ever heard was Derrick Johnson on ESPN before the draft. I wish I could find video because it was not flattering for him. Don't know if it was nerves or what, but it was rough. Still thrilled when KC drafted him, and the rest is history.

Equally surprising. They say the camera adds a great deal of Melanin. Or perhaps it's the opposite, I don't understand it exactly.

Anyone hear the player interviews on 610 today? They were asking Chiefs players if they knew when the last Chief playoff win was, and who was the quarterback.
Charcandrick West, everyone: 610: when was the last Chiefs playoff win? West: uhhh. Pretty recently, right? Not that long ago? 610: it was a while ago. Who was the quarterback? West: Trent Green? 610: no, it was Joe Montana. West: holy shit, Joe Montana played for the Chiefs?! Awesome.

I feel bad... The first person I thought about was Darren Sproles. He didn't come off too well in a interview while he was playing for Kansas State. It's probably the worst interview I've ever seen, (sorry, I can't find a link).
Darren had a stuttering issue, seemed to be uneducated and unable to react quickly to random questions. Thinking back, the first 2 issues probably lead to the 3rd. Darren's come a long way in terms of interviews since then, he has a spotless record and seems to be a fine family man. He just sounded dumb. When it comes to off the field decision making, I'd say Ray Carruth is the winner. |
