Wasn't Wilson the WR that torched the Steelers...and Smith over threw? In defense of Smith...he got hit right after he released it...but still needs to make that completion.

That was like a 60-70 yard TD that didn't happen...on AW's stat sheet. If he makes that ONE play...people have a different opinion of him.

If he was a 2nd round pick..people would be gushing about his potential.

Perception is subjective..

Hah. You could run through every skill position player on our team and add some "hidden yards and TDs". Avery had a few bombs under thrown in that Titans game week 1. In an alternate universe where Smith has Rodger's arm and deep accuracy, Avery probably goes for 200 in that game.

This board has a tendency to take something you say to the extreme so I'll clarify that no one is saying Wilson sucks. I'd rather have him than Avery. He looked great near the end of the season. I'm just not ready to crown the guy a legitimate NFL WR at this point and neither should any of you.

Up until a few years ago, more than half of this board hated the Chuuefs. 30+ years of abortions will lead people to not liking the Chiefs.

The national media doesnt need to over value the Chuuefs like the local fans do. This franchise hasn't given them any reason to believe otherwise. Especially the last 2+ decades.

Right.

No one should be excited about a guy that freaking KILLED IT at the end of last season after being sidelined with a high ankle sprain for the better part of the season.

No one should get excited by that same player, with 4.3 speed, who's currently penciled in as the #2 receiver because of his explosive play last season.

Good luck with that.

Look back at 2013

Charles 100 and change targets
Bowe 100 and change targets

That goes to Maclin and Kelce in 2015

Avery and McCluster got 600 and 500 yards

That is a bit inflated cause they were at least consistently active. But that 900-1000 chunk is WR #2 (Wilson) + Charles catches

McGrath+Fasano got 500 yards

That is mostly boring Avant depending on the learning curve of Chris Conley

All WRs drop passes. The Donks WRs do it. The Steelers WRs do it. The Packers WRs do it.

THEY ALL ****ING DROP PASSES.

People are more critical of players when they aren't producing, and they give a lot more slack to players who do produce. Demaryius Thomas, Antonio Brown, Jordy Nelson, Cobb, are all producing at an elite level and their drops are a lot more forgivable than a guy like Junior Hemingway who has done absolutely nothing.

I'm know a lot of other fans are extremely critical of their running backs when they fumble, yet no one gives a shit when Charles fumbles.... Because Charles produces.

This stuff applies to everyday life and not even just Chiefs fans being upset at their shitty wide receivers for dropping the ball. I see it everyday at work.

AND AGAIN (I feel like I'm repeating myself for the fifth time here)

Their drops aren't what make them shitty players. What makes them shitty players is them being shitty players.

Drops are just a stupid thing that make people irate. Like a basketball player who takes bad shots but can rebound and play good defense. All people care about is the bad shots, but they don't look at the entire corpus of work before flying off the handle.

The Chiefs WRs didn't catch a TD pass not because they dropped passes. It's because they were garbage players and had a dickless moron at QB.

Just as reliable as the sun rising in the east Prisco picks the Broncos to beat the Chiefs 20 - 17.

I am shocked that Prisco picked Houston.

The Texans defense is dominating right now, and I think it stays that way. They limit the Kansas City run game, and get after Alex Smith. Houston takes it.

Texans 20, Chiefs 14

Wait, I saw people saying that the Chiefs were 23rd in his rankings and he had the bears ahead of the Chiefs. But if you click the link now then the Chiefs are 18th and the Bears are 22nd. Did something change?
