I had my reservations about Dyson starting every day. I know he can play some defense and has some speed, but I couldn't see any eye test to support that he would be able to hit decently.

He's basically Gore in some aspects.

The thing that scares me about Volquez is, when his wheels come off, it happens quick. Really need to watch him close in the 5th and 6th. He's an all or nothing kinda guy.

I do not like that home plate angle at all. By all means have that camera there for the replays, but that should not be our live view, ever.

He's also lost a step of speed... not quite as quick-twitch as he once was.

I was willing to give it a shot if they found a good platoon partner for him, as a backup plan... but sure am glad they got Rios and had him off to a strong start.

Dyson is also completely helpless vs. LH pitching. Just doesn't pick up the ball. If he was in a true platoon plan, he'd probably be having a little bit better season.
