Do you think the NFL is "rigged?"

Pretty simple question: Do you think the NFL is "rigged?"

Specifically, do you believe the NFL has a preferred outcome for games AND orders its officiating crews to make calls for/against teams for the purpose of achieving that preferred outcome?

[QUOTE=Amnorix;10263671]I don't remember the situation, but I will say this -- any player at any time can give up on the play and be ruled down. You don't have to be a QB to do that. If he had given up on the play and wasn't trying to advance any furhter, it's at least possible that the play would be ruled dead.

And that's not rewriting the rulebook.

Happened during a Bears/Giants game this year in fact/QUOTE]

So if a player fumbles with no one around, the player should yell that he gives up. That's dumb. Like the tuck rule, if a QB pump fakes, then he can't fumble bcuz he was retucking. 2 bogus rules misinterpreted by idiot refs only when it suits their bias. Luckily the tuck rule is gone.

Kings I don't recall the game you are talking about, even then if the raiders got that 1 break on that 1 call, it doesn't mean the game is rigged. If the chargers after that bogus play kept driving down the field with no help from the refs and won the game, I'm not sure how your argument could hold any water or how you could believe it even could contain any

Fumble equaled Raider win. No fumble equaled Charger game winning Fg. It's incompetent or rigged. I think when they start accounting for a players intent it kills the integrity.

I've loved it for years and it's hard to just stop watching it even though I feel some games are destined to go a certain way. Like when we played the Steelers on Monday Night a few years back. One touchdown was overturned because of some bullshit holding penalty and another was overturned because they blew the whistle to fast when the QB was sacked and fumble then we returned it for a touchdown.

Doesn't really apply to the National FOOTBALL League.

There is a bias towards star players. The holding that takes place in a Donkey game is an example. I've never understood how all that moving around isn't considered a false start when Manning is changing the play the way he does. Especially when the lineman move after getting set. Just once I'd like to see a ref enforce that, and watch the epic melt down that would ensue...

Our linemen do it too.

But if there is a conspiracy theory like the meek will inherit the earth in the NFL, at least sometime in my lifetime the chiefs and the lions will play in many super bowls for a couple of decades. So I got that going for me.

It's rigged on an individual level. There is not a far-reaching conspiracy, but dipshit refs are easily bullied by star players and hometeams.

Moreover, there are far too many refs with far too much influence on point spreads and over/unders for there to not be a few who make calls to specifically benefit themselves or others.
