Renovating a Kitchen. Looking for Advice.

Mrs. Buehler445 and I are buying a different house. It is really what we want in terms of size, layout, neighborhood, etc. The only drawback is there are no upper cabinets in the kitchen...WTF? Anyway, we made the decision to man up and put in a kitchen that we want.

Since I'm a home renovation n00b, I'd appreciate any advice, tips, or experiences the CP braintrust can provide.

In doing this, we are going to have to come up with,

Cabinets (obviously)

Countertop

Backsplash

Moving the sink I hate plumbing. But it shouldn't be too bad, the plumbing is in an unfinished portion of the basement

Flooring which I'm pretty comfortable with.

Most of the work will be hired, partially because I'm a noob. Partially because I'm busy as ****.

TIA

EDIT: Already have the antifreeze tap on order.

Nice job on that Buehler. Looks good. Love that kitchen island.

One question, is that in a basement? Limited windows?

Looks awesome...and expensive. I'm just getting started on my kitchen remodel today, it's going to be a rough few months until it's done.

It's a weird deal. The dining room is freaking huge. Even after I made the kitchen like 3 times bigger. The real deal is that the kitchen is next to the garage, so there is no way to get a kitchen above the sink. There is a pile of windows in the dining room. Here is the view looking out.

I think there are add ins you can buy for existing cabinets. I didn't do the install, but I don't think it is too hard. The cylinders provide a lot of lift and are adjustable.

Steal away, boss. I'd recommend that. Especially if you've got a big heavy bastard like the wife does.

Yeaaaaaaaaah well, blame the last owners of my last house. They had a good dishwasher, so I bought appliances to match. I bought good appliances. I didn't want to spend the pile of money it would have taken to replace them. So I kept them.

Besides that I like white. So I am a rebel. *Evil Laugh*

Good luck big dog. It was expensive, but I had a bunch of electrical and plumbing work to done. And I bought good quality cabinets and tremendously high quality flooring to the tune of $7 a sq ft. Ouch.

I also didn't do any of the work myself (thank God. It would look like old man ballsack). You could spend a pile of of money less and get yourself a kitchen. If you want any advice, feel free to let me know.

Man, everything we looked at was BROWN. We figured with as many cabinets, if both the damn countertop and floor was mostly brown it would look like the inside of an asshole.

It's a heavy duty vinyl tile. I'll see if I can get some detail.

Here's all the information I could find on it.

Here's a profile view. Shitty picture, but it's tough and has quite a bit of cushion for a hard floor.
