SI : Chiefs have a problem and his name is Dwayne Bowe
His performance so far this season has been underwhelming. He is in a position to clock in his worst performance in the NFL so far and is projecting to have 54 receptions for 586 yards w/6TD.
Is his problem that defenses are keying in on him... or is it that, as suggested by Greg Bedard, that Bowe has lost a step and is no longer a top tier WR? http://mmqb.si.com/2013/10/11/greg-b...preview-notes/ Quote:

Funny... I would say that Bowe is the same player as Anquan Boldin.

Bowe is gonna start beasting at some point. The question is when. I still think it needs to start with Bowe shrugging off tacklers on underneath crossing routes, and then hitting Avery deep when DBs start jumping Bowe underneath. There is so much untapped potential left. Its so awesome to be able to say that/ |

Bowe has all the talent in the world But the thing with his is that he sometimes just doesn't show up to games. This is not something you can put on Alex Smith he has done this over time. Before Alex got to KC. It's the one thing that holds him back from going from VERY good to Great.
That being said there is some fault with Alex as well. And Reid. It does take some time for a QB and WR to gel. They will get better together but Bowe is not a major problem. |

Damn, I thought Avery played for Philly a couple years ago.
I must have him mixed up with someone else. Carry on. |

The Otis Taylor comparison is very accurate.Who's been better or as good as Otis? That answer is Bowe no question.

I don't see the difference. If you're implying he seems lazy, it's either because he's being lazy or he's playing slow. Think that's a cop out to blame that on the QB. You have to play hard no matter what, and he's played for some shitty QBs before.
I think he'll be fine. But something doesn't seem completely right, and it's on him, not anyone else, to fix it. |
