Okay, apart from the fact that it's damn disingenuous to just disregard Kelce as an afterthought, lets ask who he SHOULD have drafted. The 2013 draft was an abortion. Even after the 2013 season you had guys that were great 'hindsight' picks that are now also crap. Are you really going to argue that Eric Reid should have been the #1 overall pick? And if you'll recall the issue with Sheldon Richardson was never EVER his talent, it was the fact that he was an idiot and now here he is being an idiot. Exactly how could Dorsey have just blown the hell out of that draft in real time? When all is said and done, there's a very good chance that Dorsey made the best pick in the entire draft that year with Kelce.

And you've already conceded the 2015 class was amazing (I loved it as well) so is your beef really the 2014 class? DAT is as good as one of those vaunted Pro Bowlers so oft cited in McMidget. Dee Ford is going to be a good football player but hey, if he wasn't an All Pro as a rookie I guess it's time to just blast away at Dorsey, eh?

Just exactly WTF did you want? And that gets back to my point - he made a TON of defensible to good picks in that draft. Even Fisher is a defensible pick given the shit available to him. Fulton, despite his warts, is more productive than most 6th round rookies. Gaines is going to be a very good football player. But if he didn't do exactly what you demanded he do with each friggen pick you're going to empty both barrels on the guy.

Again - 8 pro bowlers didn't do shit because that's not how you win football games. Idiots like Dan Snyder have been trying to win with stars and scrubs for years. Dorsey's utilizing the Wolf model of building a roster horizontally and stacking depth. It works extremely well and it's going to work extremely well here.

1) Enough with the 'rookie centers can't perform' nonsense. Linsley was a beast for Green Bay last year, and Frederick was a badass from day one in Dallas. If Morse can play, it will show.

2) Early indications suggest that Fisher and Grubbs are having great camps. We'll need to see it first, but certainly no reason to be negative just yet.

3) Paylor and Nick Jacobs have both made it clear that Fulton has been a boss thus far, with several cakes along the way. He graded out positively on PFF the last 4 games in 2014, for those who want to say he was garbage all year.
Allen is a mystery, he hasn't been good in the past but if he's the best option right now, who knows. It's all about how they play together.

No one is saying get too excited about the line, but there's no good reason for complaining before one single game.
Fulton did not grade out positively in the last 4 games of the year.

Besides the fact that a good chunk of those 8 Probowlers were drafted by Herm, not Pioli.

over/under on the number of times during the 1st preason game that Jeff Allen gets caught leaning and has someone run right around him at right tackle?

Linsley took awhile to get adjusted to the NFL. And Travis Frederick was most certainly NOT a badass from day one. Do you remember the Cowboys game in 2013? Poe wrecked his shit, then got it fixed, and then wrecked it a second time before taking a massive shit on top of Frederick's twice-wrecked shit as the shit cherry on top of the shit-wrecked sundae.

If Morse starts Week One, we're going to have a ton of growing pains, and given how ****ing reeruned people are being about the offensive line right now, they're going to scream bloody murder from the top of their lungs about it. It's going to be pretty unbearable, and that's why I hope Kush eventually gets the starting job back from Morse, just so I don't have to listen to everyone bleed diarrhea from the vagina.

Technically speaking he did. He didn't in each individual game, but on balance he grades as a net positive over the last 4 games (that was how I read his comment anyway).

He graded out as a wash over the last 5 games, built largely on the strength of one good game and 4 merely below average ones, but it was still substantial progress.

The interesting thing is that for all the talk about how shitty Fulton was last season, did anyone else notice that he was actually okay as a pass blocker? He wasn't good, but he was okay. And like most other things with Fulton, he got better as the season progressed. If we're willing to use PFF, then after Week 2 forward he actually graded out as a net positive as a pass blocker. He committed very few penalties and for the most part did a nice job.

I just don't see why I'm supposed to presume that a guy who stepped in as a late round rookie and did an above average job as a pass blocker for the last 14 games of the season has no room for growth. If Zach Fulton is our starter this year and he's the biggest problem we have, we're going to have a really good line. If he's looking good in camp this year, I see no reason to believe he's not ready to take another step forward.

I took at as individual games.

I think he's got room to grow.

"When you have a line, that gets you excited," he said. "You want to stay on the field. You want to give your all, because they're going to give you all they have to win the game. I'm glad we went out there and got some experience on the line. It means we want to win." - Jamaal Charles

Plus you have Smith who is usually mum on criticizing positions say...
"It was tough last year in the sense of the moving parts," Smith said. "We had a bunch of guys who came in late. We were trying to fit it together, even as camp ended. We were picking up guys that were stepping in and playing. This year, we are a little deeper. The pieces are here right now, whereas last year that wasn't the case at this point."

Also, the lack of hype around Eric Fisher during camp is starting to worry me.

Nick Jacobs is nothing but a homer. He thought the Pioli-era Chiefs were the greatest thing since sliced bread. Fulton has lead feet and he will never be part of the solution. He doesn't have the talent.

No, he did not. This is a lie that's been circulating that needs to end NOW. He was slightly better than the dumpster fire he had been, but he was still in the negative.

If this guy is starting a year from now Dorsey and Reid haven't a clue.

That second quote from Alex speaks volumes. Not only are McGlynn and Harris terrible, we had to plug them in and let them learn the offense on the fly. Our Oline this year has more talent and they've all been here from the start of camp. Anybody who thinks this Oline won't be significantly better is crazy.
