Username origins
Allow me to create one more stupid thread before the season starts. I often wonder about every bodies usernames when I'm scrolling down the page.

I want to know more about how you guys came up with these names. Do they have personal meaning to you?

Now, you guys with Chiefs references in your names, like OTWP58, we obviously don't need your explanation.

...and you guys with obvious names, we'll be alright without yours as well.
For example:

Inmen - We know Inmen obviously has his name for sexual preferences. Why he would choose to put that out there on a message board is beyond me...but to each his own.

JASONSAUTO - it's very apparent that he's an Asian dude and went with the super boring first and last name username. Step your username game up, dude. This ain't a late 90's chatroom.

Rico - we know his name is a character that he's put together for himself. A handsome character, I might add.

The usernames I'm Interested in are the more vague ones.

The ones that aren't obvious references.

Names like Simply Red, bufkin, Donger, Bwana, etc.

And those with initials...like PGM, SNR, etc.

In fact wasn't there a thread last offseason where people were trying to guess what SNR stood for?

I believe that we also learned that Milkman was an actual Milkman at one point.

Amyways, just a thought. If a ghey thread, flame away.

My friends all started calling me, "Rico" when that "Rico Suave" song came out when I was like 8 years old. This was because my last name kind of sounds like "Suave." My actual first name is Joshua. The only people who refer to me as "Joshua" are my relatives and my wife. Everyone else refers to me as either "Rico" or a shortened version of my last name (Swaff). 60-70% of the time, people call me "Swaff." Every once in a while, someone will refer to me as "Rick" presumably because it is short for "Rico" and because of the mullet character TimBone was referring to.

I can deal with "Joshua," but I really don't like being referred to as "Josh." I wish I had a different first name.

I don't remember why I stopped capitalizing the "r" in "rico." There was a point to it, but I forgot the point....I was all sorts of wasted when I thought of it... It was when I created my username for a popular Iowa wrestling message board..."ricoswaff," which is still my username on that board and used to be my name on here.

Original name is Fire Me Boy!, who was The Human Bullet's son/sidekick in the animated The Tick series, the greatest cartoon of all time. I changed it a month or so ago in the Great Meatball Migration of 2014 to Fried Meat Ball!, but I was adamant that I retain the familiar FMB! moniker

Changed it from a previous confusing username right around the time John Lee Hooker died [summer 2001], and it's one of my favorite songs of his off The Healer. Robert Kray playing bass back. Never had an urge to change it since.

I think I'm the last of the last. I knew Kevin when Kevin was Kevin. Many people over the years changed their usernames from actual names to obscure sometimes interesting names. I suspect this was out of fear and the desire for extra anonymity.

So the time came when I was all alone. I pondered on what I could do that would be different, you know having always been a fan of the road less traveled. Then the obvious occurred to me and so I've decided to just be me.
