Because Ford isn't Bridgewater so if he's not as good as Justin Houston, he must be a POS.

If anyone walked away from that game calling Dee Ford a bust, they just weren't paying attention. He showed a very good burst and absolutely put on a couple of inside moves to keep the T honest.

This idea that Ford is going to be Reggie White out there is silly - he's never going to be big enough to just hump guys up and out of the way. But he doesn't have to be. It's like a guy that throws 100 mph who has merely an okay changeup - the change is just to keep guys honest; it's the heat that he'll get you with more often than not.

Ford's counter-moves need to only be decent for him to be an outstanding rusher. If he can get the T into that rocking chair by coming inside just often enough, he can blow by him on the outside when the T gets caught guessing. He can be a 15 sack player if his secondary moves are even average.

He's improving substantially and he'll have a double digit sack season if not this year than definitely next year after Hali moves on. He's going to be a very good ballplayer.

I agree. I just don't get what people are looking at. He's consistently fast off the edge and has created pressure. I think he's gonna be a good pass rusher.

Truth is, if he doesn't miss that sack everybody would be talking completely different about him. Which is ridiculous.

Now in fairness - that's a sack he has to finish.

That said, Logan Thomas is a big !@#$ing dude. Ford polishes that sack off pretty easily against every QB in the league that isn't named Ben Roethlisberger or Cam Newton.

I suspect he learned a valuable lesson there.

I really like what I saw from Ford. He showed some improvement in run defense. He drew a holding call bc he beat the TE and left him with no choice.
He also had 2 nice pressures completely embarrassing the LT. My only complaint was that he gets so close but doesn't finish. He should have had 2 sacks.

As much as I liked Ford, I really liked what I saw from Nunez-Roches. He was holding his ground and getting upfield consistently.

He looks like solid depth this year.

I completely agree. I gave him the benefit of the doubt bc Thomas is huge, but I agree he needs to come up with that sack in the regular season.

A safety more important to run defense than a DE and LB.
