Was at work last night and listened as long as I could stand it. Even Mike Kelley has this barely contained contempt in his voice while calling the game.
What I don't understand is why haven't the coaches changed the offensive philosophy for Lock? He clearly has a different skillset than Mauk had, but they keep trying to force him into running the same plays designed for Mauk. |

I could stomach this shit if I were confident it would lead to accountability after the season. But I'm fully expecting Mr. We Do What We Do to keep Ricker and Henson and tell them to just work harder.

I was planning on watching bits of the game, but got busy with other stuff and actually forgot about it. I remembered this morning and checked the box score & stats. Glad I did other things last night.
Something has to be done about Ricker, but I don't see it happening either. How many more years before Pinkel calls it quits and hands things over to Odom? Maybe Odom will have some balls in these situations. |

I fell asleep at halftime, woke up 1/2 through the third quarter. Things escalated quickly!
Was told today that Pinkel hasn't been as stiff/short/angry with the media as he currently is since 2004. May be a sign that significant change is going to happen, as after that year he went away from the offense he had run/coordinated/designed for 25 years. I also wouldn't be surprised if he just walked away/retired. It's frustrating. There is a lot of young talent on this team at QB, WR, DL, LB and DB. The problems on the OL are significant enough, though, that you worry that even when the QB and WR have more experience and perform at a higher level, the line might not be there to support them. RB is also a concerning area. Witter has shown a little bit more of late and could be solid... but Mizzou is in a situation in which it needs Nate Strong/Marquise Doherty/Chase Abbington to make major impacts next year, or be in danger of being woefully inadequate at the position again.

Here's a question I'm not qualified to answer or speculate on, but I've wondered: how hard of a worker is Pinkel?
It seems like the narrative around the 2012 situation was that, aside from injuries, he had grown someone complacent. I can't speak to its veracity, though. Is he the type of guy that burns the midnight oil, or does he have an approach to work similar to Spurrier? Somewhere in between? This just has the look of a half-assed coaching job this season. |

He's a CEO-style guy, from what I know of him. He gives a lot of autonomy to his coordinators and really lets them run the show. I know Yost was completely burned out when he left. It is conceivable the same has happened to Henson. I think there is definite complacency with the staff, which is why some guys last forever. I also think the decision to make Andy Hill the QB coach was a mistake... Should have just kept him with the WRs, where he was best, and found an actual QB coach.

4-star WR DaRon Davis commits to Mizzou. Davis is a 3-star recruit on Rivals.

Huge get. Hopefully he isn't blocked behind all of our existing superstar WRs.

Just saw that on SECrant. Is this for real? Anyone have an article with the backstory?
