Not necessarily. Maybe Ren is the proto-vader to a new emperor/sith lord that is either not seen or only referenced in episode 7.

As for Snoke, who knows.

Or maybe they go really crazy and an ancient evil/sith spirit is released. Maybe the Force that's Awakened is dark.

They can't be dumb enough to do that shit again. This villain needs to span all three films or its already a fail.

I don't actually think they’re going to kill him off in 7. Adam Driver is too talented to waste on giving his character maybe 30 minutes screen time before closing the chapter on Ren.

No different than Maul- except Lucas isn't around to say, "I know, I should kill off my best and most intriguing new character for this next trilogy before the end of the 1st episode. "

BTW, when they decide to do a movie about events before The Phantom Menace, will it be Episode 0, -1, -2... . Or, referred to as BS, Before Skywalker, or something like that?

It's almost a given you will get movies about Obi-Wan and Yoda at the very least that take place before everyone's favorite pod racer.

They will be individual movies. Part of the universe, but not in the order of the Star Wars series.

This is why LucasFilm created the Anthology series, although I wouldn't rule out an Old Republic series at some point featuring a young Jedi named Yoda.

That would be sweet. Any Old Republic storylines would likely be bad ass. So many choices and directions, especially if SDW's boy Darth Bane is accepted as canon.

It would have to be a new Old Republic timeline for that to happen. The most active part of the Old Republic era as it existed in the EU happened during a period between 4000 and 3600 years before A New Hope. Bane was a thousand years before ANH, and that predates Yoda's birth by a century. Of course none of that is canon, so they could do anything.

Isn't he already considered cannon since he was brought up in the second season of The Clone Wars?

Clone Wars is canon, but the Bane novels are not.

"I was the last survivor, and I chose to pass my knowledge to only one. I created a legacy so resilient that now you come before me." ―Darth Bane to Jedi Master Yoda
Biography

Before the Clone Wars

Being the only Sith survivor of the New Sith Wars, Darth Bane created the Rule of Two. Instead of a vast army of Sith, thereby creating constant internal conflicts and betrayals with each other, there would only be two Sith: A master, and an apprentice.

Sacrifice

To face great evil, Jedi Master Yoda went to Korriban to continue his training of retaining his identity after death. He approached the Vallery of Dark Lords, and in the center of the room, there was a tomb built for Bane, and a giant, smoky figure became from Bane's tomb, and tried to persuade Yoda to become his apprentice, and destroy the Jedi together. Yoda figured that Bane was only an illusion to trick Yoda into joining the Sith order, after that, the figure disappeared.

Behind the Scenes

Darth Bane

Bane's original concept design.
◾Darth Bane, similarly to Darth Revan, was initially set to make an appearance in the Clone Wars television series episode "Ghosts of Mortis". Revan and Bane were originally supposed to be the influence behind the Son's evil deeds. The scene was created, however George Lucas chose to delete it because it conflicted with his idea of the Force. Bane made an appearance later on in the series finale, "Sacrifice". In that episode he was voiced by Mark Hamil, the actor who played Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars films.

I don't know how definitive that is in regards to canon, but there you go.

According to the Bane Wookiepedia, there is a possibility that Bane and Yoda may have had an opportunity to cross paths. I guess it's all up to Disney and Lucasfilm to decide if they want to include him as canon or not at this point.
