I didn't say he's not good. He's good, but is he one of the best GM's in the NFL?

He's overrated.

I'm sure everybody would be overrating Michael Jordan if he got Lebron to come play for the Hornets. Would it be hard to get guys like Love to come to play there?

The question is can Michael Jordan find the next Jordan/Lebron in the draft?

Elway drafted Brock instead of Wilson. If he's this genius that can just find a good QB with ease, that wouldn't have happened.

He's completely overrated.

He lucked out with his friend Manning on the market and then lucked out with Von in the best star packed draft in years.

Talib, Ware, Sanders and Ward came there at good deals bc of Manning. Not him.
For Christ sakes. This guy has been average at best in the draft. Slvester Williams sucks, Brock left, Montee Ball was a complete disaster, Cody Latimer can't even get on the field and Rahim Moore was an abysmal pick.

Now Manning is gone and his hand picked QB told him to **** off and he's scrambling to find any way to get any QB.

For ****s sake. Remember the fax machine blunder? Elway should thank Manning every day for the rest of his life for that SB trophy.

an

I agree 100% and have said the same thing on this board from day one. Just yesterday I stated we will now see in the coming years if Elway is actually a good GM. Manning got him everything. All he has done is spend money on players that wanted to be on Mannings team.

Kubiak is trash in my book. That guy fell as backwards into a trophy Barry Switzer style and the media talks about him as if he's good. He was shit with the Texans after numerous years of failing.

I give him an A+ for attracting some of the best free agents on the market but a D- when it comes to the draft.

He took his "shot" and won with Free Agency. Now, the tough part begins because their roster isn't young, they don't have a QB and their current "window" has been shut.

I think he'd be much better off by trading guys like Ware, Talib and Sanders for additional picks in order to rebuild the roster.

Oh, and Kubiak is an absolutely awful head coach.

Our free agents have gotten over $200M worth of contracts this offseason and that isn't even counting Von Miller who will get a $100M contract himself... Who do you think drafted those guys?

Exactly. This is all I'm trying to say in a nutshell.

I prefer to have a GM who drafts better because you normally don't get elite QB's like Manning in free agency. Also, you usually don't have success going all-in in free agency either.

Yes he is one of the best GMs in football. Multiple playoff wins, 2 SBs one he won. He built a great defense and lured Peyton to Denver.

D-? he's drafted well. He just won a SB with that awful coach as well.

He signed Peyton Manning and free agents swarmed to join them.

Talib, Ware, Sanders, et al didn't join the Broncos because they drafted Brock Osweiler in the 2nd round of the 2012 draft.

They won a Super Bowl due to Wade Phillips, not Kubiak.

Any other defensive coordinator, including Jack Del Rio, would have failed.

He still gets credit. He had Brock playing decent at times.

those are his FA's in 2 years without Manning. All of their good FA's came for Manning.
