***Official 2014 Training Camp/Preseason Mega-thread***

Post all of the Training Camp/Pre-season updates, relevant tweets, and general thoughts in this mega-thread.

If something happens to be particularly newsworthy, feel free to start a thread and discuss it there. Don't be a dickbag and "Q" up their thread, unless some idiot posts something like 5 days late.

WHEN POSTING TWEETS - When posting Tweets, instead of just copying the text, you can actually embed the tweet by clicking "...More" (right next to the timestamp of the tweet)-> "Embed Tweet" -> Copy the embed code, then paste that into your CP post. It will make the thread look a lot cleaner and we won't have to keep clicking away from the website to see the content. Thanks in advance.

Rookie cornerback Phillip Gaines made two interceptions on the day. During 11-on-11 drills, Gaines picked off a Tyler Bray pass tipped by cornerback Kevin Rutland. During 1-on-1 with wide receivers against cornerbacks passing drills, Gaines intercepted another Bray pass.
This Tyler Bray being bad and inaccurate or Phillip Gaines being good? Probably both.

I agree and am excited about the three young guys (Cooper, Parker, and Gaines). Flowers was the most overrated Chiefs player for a while.

Nick Jacobs has tweeted out that he believes Parker is a better player than Sean Smith. Hopefully that means more about Parker than Smith, but I'm all about playing the better player. I still don't understand why some believe we have to replace much with Flowers. Last season, when we were actually good, he SUCKED. Bottom 5 corner in the league per ProFootballFocus, that isn't hard to replace at all.

I expect Gaines to be our #1 corner next year. Big and athletic, reminds me of Sherman (obviously not that good...)

Martin is ahead of Zombo on the depth chart. KC keeps 4 QBs. Inactives italicized.. and assuming Chase Daniel is listed as the emergency QB and therefore the 46th man on the active roster.

Linkenbach is not the starter at RG.

It's Fulton or Rishaw Johnson. And at this point Fulton is tightening his grip.

I called Fulton being a low-key potential beast the week after we picked him, and I stand by it now. He will start.

Fine. Then one of those two will be inactive... Gotta have a swing tackle.

Also, Frankie Hammond will make this team. Every media guy has reported him to be our most impressive receiver in camp.

It's easy to be the most impressive receiver when over half the roster at WR is out with various ailments.

Who was out? Hemingway and Harrison? That's it. Jacobs and Teicher have been talking about Hammond since OTA's.

I'm with you. Hammond is going to make it. He was doing good before anyone was hurt. Wilson will make the practice squad. Jenkins is getting cut. I can't wait to watch the games.

I have a feeling guys like Jenkins and Bray will shit the bed in the preseason. There is real competition this year.

Hammond also has been in the system for a year, it's simple math at this point. As critical as Jacobs and Teicher can be on our WR's, the fact that they say we have many talented young wideouts is a nice sign for these guys.

He's going to get flushed back to Canada where he belongs. Maybe a WR-needy team like Cleveland will pick him up. But barring injury, he's not playing a single regular season down here.
