Brady takes jab at Peyton Manning in email

This is probably part of the reason he doesn't want his text messages out there.

Tom Brady jabs at Peyton Manning in private emails

By Henry McKenna @McKennAnalysis

Tom Brady is supposedly competitive about everything. Apparently, he’s even competitive about the length of his career when compared to his NFL rival Peyton Manning.

The Patriots quarterback jabbed at Manning in his private email correspondence, revealed in the NFLPA lawsuit to appeal Brady’s four-game suspension for his role in Deflategate. Brady was emailing with a childhood friend Kevin Brady, who brought up a Grantland article comparing the two quarterbacks and outlining Manning’s decline. Brady wrote that his career will last at least five years longer than Manning’s. Manning is 39, Brady is 38.

Zinger.

And Brady’s not blind to the differences in the two quarterbacks’ careers. In another correspondence with blogger Jay Flannelly, Flannelly wrote to Brady about those major differences, saying Manning “needs everything to be perfect.” Brady didn’t seem to disagree, providing a typical Patriot-esque response.

Perhaps Brady buys into the Brady-Manning rivalry as much as we do.

I keep seeing people refer to Brady as the NFL's "Golden Boy", yet Goodell and Vincent did absolutely nothing to Rodgers or the Packers when Rodgers admitted to over-inflating the balls every Sunday, nor did they do anything to the Vikings when they were caught cheating.

Hmm...
The Rodgers' thing has been explained SO MANY TIMES. How are you not getting it? Do you seriously not understand?

Yeah, I totally get it.

Aaron Rodgers instructs his guys to inflate the football to 16 pounds. The refs then deflate the balls to 13.5.

That's not tampering with the football, at all, is it?

Oh, FFS. Neither Rodgers or the Vikings were hiding anything. Like has been stated over and over, Rodgers could personally fill the footballs to whatever PSI he wants to before turning the balls over to the officials for approval. The Vikings ball boy was heating the balls up in front if God and everyone. It was noticed on TV by the league office, for Christ's sake. It is pretty obvious that he wasn't aware that heating the balls was against the rules.

For failure to cooperate. And old man Kraft must have been OK with it because he chose not to fight it despite his sad display a week ago trying to convince season ticket holders otherwise.

No, it isn't. That's why the approval process is in place. It's so that QBs can get the balls how they like them, then the refs are allowed to approve or modify them.

Changing the balls AFTER the approval, as the Patriots did, is a deliberate attempt to get balls that would not otherwise be approved into the game.

The fact that this has to be explained to you numerous times should be embarrassing for you.

How could a ball boy not know that it was against the rules?

Wrong.

The Patriots were fined because they were found to be complicate with the deflation of footballs, even though no one could prove anyone deflated footballs and the NFL had no idea that balls would naturally deflate under certain atmospheric conditions.

Rock solid case.

Not sure. Do the rules specifically state "you may not warm the balls up on a freezing day", or is it something with a gray area like "the balls may not be altered in any way after inspection"?

http://espn.go.com/blog/minnesota-vi...nthers-vikings

"You can't do anything with the footballs in terms of any artificial, whether you're heating them up, whether it's a regular game ball or kicking ball, you can't do anything to the football," Blandino said. "So that was noticed during the game, both teams were made aware of it during the game and we will certainly remind the clubs as we get into more cold weather games that you can't do anything with the football in terms of heating them up with those sideline heaters."

No $25k fine, either.
