My Engagement just got broken off but the Royals are 6-0!

So apparently its been building with her for a long time, but the final straw was that I wanted to watch the game today instead of going with her to some BBQ at one of her friends' house that I cant stand. Last night making her watch the game with me instead of our usual Sat night of watching movies might have had something to do with it as well.

No more than an hour after the game ended she came over and gave me her ring back and said "I cant do this anymore". I just stood there dumbfounded as I watched her walk to her car. Im sure its not just the baseball games, we've been fighting a lot the last few months about stupid shit but I guess this finally sent her over the edge.

I'm sure I'll be hurt by this tomorrow, but until then go Royals!

After having a little trouble getting my fiancee on board with the Chiefs (and football in general) she is TOTALLY on board with the Royals. She's never been a sports fan of any kind, but she actually surprised me with tickets to the game yesterday. She was so excited afterwards that she wanted us to sign up for MLB.TV. It's like some kind of ****ing miracle.

The only fight my GF and I have had over the Royals was last October, I bought tickets to game 4 of the ALCS. When game 3 got rained out, game 4 got moved to a day game, and she wasn't going to get to go. Wasn't my fault, but man she was upset until she found someone to work for her, and was able to go...

I'll occasionally find myself at a Cold War Kids show or the like due to all the metal/punk shows my wife has had...errrr, felt obligated to attend...errrr, validate my whereabouts. It's a give and take, man.

Didn't it occur to you that there might be other dudes at this BBQ that may be interested in the Royals? Maybe you guys could go in and watch baseball or you could put it on the radio or something. It probably didn't have to be an all or nothing situation.

No, this was obviously a make or break situation and the true deciding factor whether this amazing relationship was going to make it for the long haul.

Haven't read the thread, but figured it was one of those where ~50 posts in, it's revealed that he also just happened to **** her sister 6 months ago, but doesn't know why it blew up yesterday afternoon.
