I like cover tunes. It's always interesting to hear someone else's take on a song. From Johnny Cash ("Hurt") to the "Mad World" slow-piano version from "Donnie Darko", I like 'em all. Alien Ant Farm ("Smooth Criminal"). Anything off the Red, Hot & Blue Cole Porter AIDS-benefit album. Covers rock.

That said, I have high expectations of a Creep cover. I doubt anything will top the original. But Brandi puts a good deal of herself into her version.

Wish I knew where to find it, but there's a great article on the pedigree of Hallelujah, how different it was when Cohen first recorded it, how he tweaked, how Jeff turned it into a standard and how it became a soundtrack staple.

Anyone who digs this stuff OWES it to themselves to pick of Jennifer Warnes' 'Famous Blue Raincoat' an entire album of Cohen covers [not including Hallelujah] and perhaps one of the best mastered albums ever.
