****Official 2019 NFL Draft Discussion****

Post any interesting thoughts - feel free to create a new thread that flows with the timing of the actual draft.

A few of my thoughts.

I'll say we get Byron Murphy first pick and then possibly manage to get Justice Hill later than expected due to last year's injury.

Players I wouldn't mind:

-- Ed Oliver (duh)
-- Nasir Adderley (again, 'duh')
-- M. Brown
-- AJ Brown
-- Hakeem Butler
-- Rock Ya Sin
-- Fant (doubt it)
-- Hockenson (don't see Brett drafting 1st round)
-- Deebo Samuel (not at 29 but should fall) (BIG FAN here!) value pick?
-- Justice Hill (absolutely should fall) (BIG FAN here!) value pick?

Let's talk about it!

NFL Network just did their Mock Draft Live segment. Cynthia Frelund was picking for the Chiefs. She selected Jeffery Simmons, DT, Miss. State

Names of note on the board at that point:
Brian Burns
All the safeties except Abram
Tillery
AJ Brown

Charles Davis said it was his favourite pick of the mock, and that Simmons is a legit top 5 talent in any draft, but the injury pushes him down. No talk about his battery incident....

This would be a pretty shrewd move...rookies rarely contribute significantly in their 1st year. Top 5 talent at a position that is increasing in importance....Jones is about to bank $20 mil per.

It might be a boring pick but in 2 years look brilliant...with Mahomes about to make a billion dollars, Chiefs need to best cheap labor they can get.

I am on the fence with this scenario. On one hand I agree with your rationale completely regarding talent/cost.

On the other I struggle with an investment in yet another character concern guy. I worry more about this than his ACL....

All in year. Get cheap players who will play now.

That and I wouldn’t deal with his off field stuff after what’s happened to us recently.

I haven't really been following his situation...if he has issues then take a late 2nd flyer on him.

Only if we pull some Lil' Chiefy bullshit like trading up for an Offensive player. There just aren't enough torches and pitchforks in the world to cover that. That's pretty much a "you need to be fired/no salvation exists for you"-scenario.

Yep, that's when I come to burn playhouses down.
