I just wanted to say congrats to the Chiefs on a great year. The stars really couldn't have aligned much better for the Pats and Chiefs to meet in the AFCCG this year. I'm sure you guys are rooting against the Pats in the divisional round so you get home field for the championship game, but I'm counting on seeing Pats/Chiefs in Foxboro on Sunday, January 22.

This one's a little bit different from the others partially because the Steelers don't have many blatant weaknesses. They're 21st against the pass and 15th against the rush, so while defense isn't a strength, it's not what figures to hold them back. Their performance on the road, however, could.

This table shows the splits of the Steelers based on where they're playing. Because Ben Roethlisberger is all healthy, only games in which he was the starter were included, meaning we have a sample of six games at home and eight on the road.

Home: 30.50pts 414.83yds +10.67
Road: 21.63pts 348.25yds +2.00

They still had a positive scoring differential on the road, but it didn't even sniff their performance at home. This is a well-known weakness for the Steelers, but the facts back up the narrative.

Obviously, this won't be an issue in the first round as they host the Dolphins. After that, though, they'll have to go on the road to face either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Patriots in the second round. If they do, expect heavier struggles for the Steelers' offense than they experience at home.

Damn...NE played Cleveland, San Fran, Jets twice, Bills twice, Rams, Bengals and Cardinals

Half of their games were against bottom 10 teams. That will inflate the stats...going 3-1 with back-up QBs was impressive though.

The only Playoff teams they faced were Miami twice (once with a back-up QB), Texans w/ Brock, Steelers with a back-up QB,
and Seattle...three being at home.

The best QB they faced was Wilson...and he beat them.

KC faced Ryan, Carr twice, Rivers twice, Luck, Newton and Brees...and beat them all. Five of those games being away. Two of those QBs are in the race for MVP.

All of the Patriots' scandals have been made up? You can downplay "Deflategate," but in my opinion that was an attempt to humble an organization which had begun to defy those who had helped them become a dynasty, dating back to the tuck call which kick-started their run, then looking the other way at numerous incidents of outright cheating. I'll give credit where it's due, and the organization still deserves plenty, but clearly they didn't become what they are solely due to a failed head coach finding his inner genius and a 7th round pick blossoming into the GOAT.
