Daniel Sorenson

I just hope the kid makes the roster. He's flashed some good stuff, seems to be around the ball a lot and well , he's 6'2" 208 and pretty fast for his size.

Talk has it Tyler Bray may go to IR. What's up with that ? I would rather just cut Murray and move on.

He's your starting strong safety. You'd think that some of you would be a bit more astute in figuring out the players names. God forbid that we still have to endure the Daniel/Daniels thing on a daily ****ing basis around here.
Starting? Lolwut?!

Both guys sucked ass their first time through preseason games. One gets a shot to improve, and the other just goes away. What makes Sorensen different from Vince Agnew?

And no, I'm not saying Vince Agnew should have been given a longterm shot to prove himself on the team. I'm saying that you HAVE to make that determination all the damn time if a rookie sucks or not.
Is that a serious question? Agnew wasn't a rookie when the Chiefs got him. Neither is Bronson.

Has he had much time in the NFL to learn the game of football? **** no. The new CBA doesn't allow rookies much time at all to adjust to the huge jump to the pros.

Did Sorensen come from a small FCS or Division II program and need more time than other rookies to overcome the huge jump to the NFL? No.

Is Sorensen's energy level and desire to be truly great any more exceptional than other rookies? Not really.

If you believe the scouting reports, the guy is a very good student of the game and very smart. Not all rookies are going to walk in with that scouting report.

Does Sorensen have ANY unique qualities to his game that will ever make him anything more than JAG? No.
First of all, we're comparing one JAG to another JAG. It's not like we're debating about whether he should bump Abdullah off the roster. He bumped off a guy who's been in the league for a full year and still can't make a team. No team even TRIED to pick him up.

The quality you hear most in his scouting reports is his intelligence and work ethic in the film room. He is adjusting to a really complicated safety role in a Ryan defense. He's not like other Safeties who can use raw talent to cover up that lack of intelligence. So yeah, that jump for him is going to be really huge and it's absolutely possible that some of that tentativeness is a lack of confidence.

AND FINALLY... THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION OF ALL:

Does he suck right now? Yes.

That's Strike 6. He's out.
Based on what? Preseason snaps? Dontari Poe, Knile Davis, and Travis Kelce looked horrendous in the preseason. And those guys were first and second round picks, Davis and Kelce had plenty of experience.
