I've watched and mostly enjoyed the first four seasons. I'm about to start the fifth. I hope it's not as horrible as you guys say, but the one flash forward episode they had near the end of the fourth season didn't bode well. It just seemed like a sharp departure from what the show's been so far.

I'm a little over halfway through season 5 and it is a sharp departure, but I like it better than the people in this thread apparently did. I've been reading along as I watch and I've been surprised by the reactions to season 5. I think there are some plot holes that are fair criticism, but there's so much in this series that you have to suspend disbelief for anyway that they haven't really bothered me.

I will say that I liked the last 2-3 episodes of Season 5 a lot more than anything else that season, so the good news is that it gets better.

I've been re-watching this with my dad (his first time watching) and I think it holds up for the most part.

I can spend time looking for the early hints and the "catch the observer in every episode" game. I really liked the characters. Peter was a witty, smart, mystery of a character that you wanted to learn more about (and I wish they would have explored his history more.) Walter might be my favorite character on TV of all time and his performance throughout the series was great.

During the first season it felt a lot like an X-Files ripoff show that I kept watching because of Walter. By season 4 I was hooked and this is one of my top 10 favorite shows.

I really enjoyed season 5. It was the science/how come of season 5 I felt was a let down. When you make a show with so damned many elements and easter eggs that are all important you make every little detail important. This was the one season it seemed like they didn't take care with the little details and it was a disservice to what the show deserved...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
