And who the **** cares about backwards compatibility? How many original Xbox games are you still playing? In all honesty, I think you need to inform yourself a little better about this situation instead of looking for reasons to cry and complain. You're still going to be able to play borrowed games without paying any sort of fees. The fee comes into play if you want to keep playing the game after you return it to your friend but don't feel like going anywhere to buy it.

I like my older games too, I just tend to play the new ones coming out. Backwards compatibility is always a big talking point, but not too many people actually give a **** about it. I remember everyone making a huge fuss about the lack of backwards compatibility with the 360... 77 million units later, nobody seems to care. I know my old Xbox has never been out of my partents' house basement ever since the 360 came out.

Show me a link that says "If you borrow or rent a game, you are going to have to pay a fee in order to play it." It's been spread around like wildfire and I haven't seen one credible piece of information out there that shows it to be true. |

They may have changed their mind on the fee after all the backlash though: http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...tallation.aspx |

Thanks, appreciate the links. The link I posted a few pages back (from I believe the same source at MS) said that people will have the exact same restrictions on games that are in place now - basically that if you want to use a game on another console, you'd have to have the disc. Not sure on the dates of the article. But, from the sounds of your first link, it sounds like they are moving towards how they (and every other company) treat software - think of something like MS Office. You can install it on as many computers as you want, but it's only licensed for one computer - so if you want to activate it on any other computers, you have to purchase the license. I'm not big on used games, so it isn't much of restriction for me. But, I'll wait until the system(s) are out to see what the final results are. I expect some changes between now & then. |

My point is that people always say they want backwards compatibility, but in reality no one cares in the end because no one goes back to playing old games when the new ones are on the market.

And do people really need to save 25+ games on a console at a time?

I mean this as nicely as possible...... whoever you have helping you with your day-to-day activities like getting dressed and eating deserves a raise because that is the only way you've made it this far in life without accidentally killing yourself.
