Leon Sandcastle just won't go away
"On Thursday, March 28 at 2:15 p.m. the Kansas City Chiefs will make the next rookie sensation - and star of NFL Network's Super Bowl XLVII advertisement - Leon Sandcastle (Deion Sanders) available to all local media outlets," the Chiefs press release said. (H/T RDOGuy for reporting the workout here.)
This is real. Deion Sanders is actually coming to Kansas City today, dressed up as Leon Sandcastle. I double checked with the Chiefs on that and, indeed, it's actually Deion Sanders coming to Kansas City. Hey, you never can be too sure. Anyway, I'll be out there for the Sandcastle event today. I don't know what to expect but I'll be there. Follow @ArrowheadPride if you need your fix on Leon Sandcastle news this afternoon. We've written an embarrassing amount of stuff on a fictional player created by NFL Network. Here are a few of them: http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2013/3...-deion-sanders |

I would ask to be paid by the NFL to show up at this thing if I were a member of the media. They are being used for promotional purposes only, and the NFL is basically getting free actors to show up for their commercial.
I would also buy a jersey if the price was right. |

Deion did a skit years ago, giving out Halloween candy to kids in NFL jerseys. That was funny, since then...
Just go out and steal his wallet. What's he going to do? Tackle you? |

Whoever announces our draft pick should name him as the pick.

The Leon Sandcastle joke is almost as pathetic as the Geno Smith joke.

How is this joke mocking the Chiefs? In the commercial, everyone wanted Sandcastle and the Chiefs only got him cause they were the #1 pick.
That said, this is about as pathetic as the Geiko Cavemen getting their own sitcom. |
