Maybe. But at one time everyone would've said no way that Alex Smith would be starting for the Chiefs next year. Especially with a guy who has success with QBs like Andy Reid.

I think the same was thought of Ponder.
Stuff happens in the draft especially @ the QB position.

He is bluffing. He is smart enough to realize his job depends on it.

Not to nit pick here, but Andrew Luck never really had a "wow" factor about him either. Everybody knew he was a great football player, but he didn't just dazzle you game after game with unbelievable plays. Just good solid football most of the time.
Now Johnny Football has the "wow" factor, but I am not sure I would touch him with a ten foot pole next draft. So just because Geno doesn't have a "wow" factor, I wouldn't be that concerned. We have seen him make plays when the game is on the line. Not every game as the KSU, Texas Tech, and Syracuse game watchers will point out, but he has made plays that are pretty impressive when needed. More like Luck, you just know Geno is a good football player. And before anyone reads anything into this this... I did not say Geno is as good as Andrew Luck. |
