Killer apps for Android?

Since there's an iPhone version, I figured I'd start a Droid version. After being handcuffed by Sprint's SERO plan for the past two years, I finally ordered my LG Optimus S last night. It'll be here in about 24 hours. So, what toys should I play with when it arrives?

They just released a new version that addresses that 2nd problem. Not sure about the first. That not being able to flow in every typing space was very annoying for me. I'm glad they fixed it. When this beta is over, I will definitely be purchasing Swiftkey Flow for permanent use.

Not really a fan of the keyboard auto popping up when opening a text from the lock screen.

If I want to type, I will click in the text box. I hope they make a setting to turn that off in this beta.

Other than that, I love this thing.

Probably a Q but I just got a new Samsung Galaxy S3 and downloaded AndroVid today.

I like to take pictures of my fish tank and my dogs which is, as you can imagine, extremely difficult.

So instead I just took a 30 second video of my dog today and used AndroVid to capture still photos from the best parts of the video.

Pretty cool.

That seems way too obvious to be a new idea. I'll have to check it out.

Yeah, that's why I figured it was a Q. I just didn't want to go back through such a massive thread. I probably could have done a search but I hate using it and inducing server indigestion.

I can say this - it's COMPLETELY changed my experience with taking pics of my fish. Photographing fish, inside a glass cube filled with water, is one of the most difficult and frustrating things I've ever done. It's now a snap.

So, I'm probably way behind the curve here, but this app is the greatest thing ever if you have a HTPC.

XBMC for Android. It will let you stream just about anything. You can also access media shared on another computer or server or whatever. Or play media stored on the Android device.

Anyone using the new version of Pocket Cast? I'm think of switching from Doggcatcher. I'll download it when I have some free time to spend setting it up. Interesting most in the cross device sync.

I use my phone, and I do download first, but I make sure I am WiFi connected first, although I have played on the fly. Vudu is free and works well (although technically is not available for phone usage yet). They carry first run flicks and you can store movies you own that are a part of their library for free on their servers for viewing at any time. I currently have about 60 films there.

So, if I'm on a cross country plan flight with no internet connection, what is my best option for viewing films on my tablet?
