"Storage Wars" Dave Hester sues show...calls it a fraud

heheh....Nice try Dave....as if we didnt know already......

http://www.deadline.com/2012/12/a-ca...y-cast-member/

Storage Wars star Dave Hester today sued A&E and the producers of the reality show, calling it a staged “fraud on the public”. Represented by attorney Marty Singer in his suit (read it here), Hester is seeking more than $750,000 in damages and fees from the network and Original Productions for their actions and for firing him from the show. “When Plaintiff David Hester (“Hester”) complained to producers that A&E’s fraudulent conduct of salting and staging the storage lockers was possibly illegal, he was fired from the Series. As further evidence of Defendants’ outrageous conduct, they purported to rescind their written exercise of an option retaining Hester’s services this coming season,” says the 14-page complaint, which is suing for wrongful termination, breach of contract, breach of good faith and fair dealing, unfair business practices and declaratory relief.

Reality shows are often accused of sleight-of-hand manipulation of events, contestants and other participants, but Hester’s suit tarnishes Storage Wars almost from top to bottom. “Nearly every aspect of the Series is faked, even down to the plastic surgery that one of the female cast members underwent in order to create more “sex appeal” for the show, the cost of which was paid for by Original,” the suit claims. “Original regularly ‘salts’ the storage lockers that are the subject of the auctions portrayed on the Series with valuable or unusual items to add dramatic effect, even going so far as to stage entire storage units. Original also manipulates the outcome of certain auctions by paying for storage units on behalf of the weaker cast members who lack the both the skill and financial wherewithal to place winning bids,” it adds. Hester is seeking a jury trial.

Now in its third season, the highly rated Storage Wars pits buyers against one another for contents of abandoned storage lockers. Known as “the Mogul,” Hester has been one of the seven main participants on the show since it debuted in 2010. The second half of Storage Wars’ latest season began last week.

I laugh at these silly competitions, particularly because nobody understands what Jesse is doing and recognizes how unbelievably difficult it is. The fact that second place went to a customized factory harley pretty much says it all.

I used to love watching AMerican Chopper; now it's comical. Yeah, get a pre-made frame; throw a fender and a gas tank on it along with some reeruned looking accesories...........CUSTOM BIKE!

Yeah. I like the Grease Monkey guys better than the rest of the douchebags, but their bike was elementary compared to what the others did. Jesse James is an artist, but he's also a ****ing dick.

There's a lot to like about Brandi. I have a feeling that it won't be long before somebody steals her away from that junk dealer she's currently living with. All it's going to take is a higher bid, I'm afraid.

Didn’t watch the competition you’re talking about but I can imagine.
James can take a flat piece of sheet metal and with a hammer, sandbag and English wheel can message it into a fuel tank or fender. Paul Jr. typically takes a tank that someone else built, puts it on a frame that someone else built and about the only thing he actually fabricates is some bolt on chrome trinkets.
That about how it went?

The Chicago Tribune also reported that Hunter Moore was once the operator “Is Anyone Up,“ a pornographic website. Brandi Passante claims it is not her and is suing Hunter Moore for damages, attorney fees and a judgment to destroy everything owned by Hunter Moore regarding the sex tape.

A District Court judge issued a restraining order. That order demands that the video and photos be removed from “Is Anyone Up” as well as Fleshbot.com, another pornographic site where Hunter Moore posted the sex tape.

If I remember correctly, Jesse asked Jr. how far he could go on a tank of gas and Jr. said about 20 miles. Apparently, Jr. built another bike that can't actually do anything useful.

I remember watching "the making of" one of their promo deals (it was a video shoot of some sort) and Jr. was riding his famous spider bike on some nice, even, flat blacktop and the webbing started falling off. They had to stop production until somebody could come up with a wrench and a ball-pein hammer so he could fix it.

lol. nice.
when American Chopper first came out, it was really great to watch. now it's just a 1 hour long commercial for whatever company they're builing a 'custom' bike for.

and that Jason Poole kid, who 'designs' them, needs to get another occupation. because he sucks at it. his 'renderings' look almost cartoonish.

He is, by far, the worst "designer" I have ever witnessed. Ever.

The suck is strong in that guy.

Wondering whether any of these shows is real or not is missing the point. It's still entertaining. My son and I watch these all the time. We laugh at the obvious fake stuff, question other parts, but in the end, it's still good entertainment.

The actors like Barry, Jarrod and of course Brandi make it fun to watch.

Now if you tell me Gold Rush is fake then it's game on!

I can't ever remember hating anybody as quickly as I learned to hate Paul Sr., and I've probably only watched a combined total of 20 minutes of that show over the years. All I've ever taken away from it is what a complete ****ing douche that dude is. The only way I want to watch a show about people like that is if they get eaten alive by something at the end.
