You have to be smart about it. The simple answer to your sitation is called hollow points. If you drop someone and they are still alive and you pop them until they die you will be going to prison. Don't kid yourself.

That being said I agree that you want to kill them, not hurt them. But you just can't pop extra rounds into them and yes, they have ways to tell if you did that.

I am very for real. This is advice straight from the mouts if police officers. Trust me. I worked in liquor stores in very, very bad parts of town. I have had several conversations with law enforcment both friends of family and cops that would come into the store.

One thing you best understand, the criminal has more rights than you do, like it or not.

One thing you best understand, the criminal has more rights than you do, like it or not.

A liquor store (lights are on, you have a counter between you and the intruder, your wife and children aren't sleeping, etc.) is completely different than being at home and waking up to someone trying to break into your house.

I agree you are granted more liberty in engagment if it is in your house. The fact is though I was at risk a lot more in the stores than most people ever will be in their homes.

I'm not advocating being maniacal about the situation. If someone is down, incapacitated but clearly alive, I'm not going to walk over to kill him. It's going to be up to the ambulance to determine whether he lives or dies.

My point is that the initial onslaught is likely to be more than decisive.

That's why you use a hollow point or a 12 gauge. It won't take more than one round to drop them unless you are using a little 22 or 9mm.
