At least you ****ers made the playoffs. My team is first in points scored, and 5-8 on the season. No playoffs for me. Every damn week I was in the top 2 or 3 scores in the league, but I'd always get a ton scored against me.

This is why I hate traditional head to head leagues and am in one league that awards the play-offs to a tier scoring system throughout the season.

Every year, we have a team or two that scores a ton, gets unlucky every week, and misses the playoffs. That's reeruned, IMO. This year, the team that scored the 2nd most out of 12 teams missed the playoffs. That's ridiculous. I've thought about two possible solutions. Giving the 6 highest scoring teams each week a "win" and giving the 6 lowest scoring teams a "loss" - then using a team's "record" to determine playoff seeding with points scored as a tiebreaker. Or, doing a roto-hybrid league where the highest scoring team each week is awarded 12 points, the 2nd highest scoring team 11 points, etc. Then the top 6 in these "points" go to the playoffs. In each scenario, you'd have the option of sticking with this scoring in the playoffs, or returning to a H2H format specifically for the playoffs. Thoughts? |

Ours is a 12 team league that still plays h2h with a small cash prize at the end for best h2h,however,the leagues scoring is based on a tier system. In other words, say I'm playing you and you beat me 145.5 to 143.7 I lose the h2h match-up but based on the other total scores I had the 2nd highest point total I'm awarded 10 pts. the tier is 11 thru 0.Those tier points are accumulated weekly and decide the play-offs and reward those who built the most solid team throughout the season. On a personal note if your league does this get ready for Monday nights because even though you may have won your H2H you're watching everyone else who may have players going because in the end it's all about the best built team and keeps everyone interested till the end.

Lastly,if you want a real challenge,we play all 17 weeks on the tier system and then our play-offs go with the NFL play-offs.In other words top 6 of 12 tier scoring make play-offs and can keep any play-off bound players on their rosters.Rosters must stay the same as reg season,no pick-ups once re-draft is over and no H2H but a full blown week to week overall points to decide Super Bowl winner.

in my 12 team keeper leagues ($75 buy in) we do $50 towards H2H and $25 towards points.
6 teams make the playoffs Payouts are: $300 1st $150 2nd $100 3rd $50 4th $180 1st in points $90 2nd in points $30 3rd in points In one of those keeper leagues, the 6 highest scoring teams all made the playoffs. But I also play adult FFL and play in OP leagues where you can start 2 QB's so the position isn't devalued and the league actually takes a little cognitive thought other than taking RB's over and over and over for the first 5 rounds |

That happened to me last year. Just so happens although I would rack up great point totals all year, it seemed I would always play the hottest team that week. It sucked !
