He saw the writing on the wall. OSU is going to rape the Big 10 for as long as Urban is coaching.

I agree with your underlying point (yes, Urban Meyer will own the B1G for the next decade), but lets not act like he's getting it any easier by going to the SEC West.

I should have said,"And to coach in the SEC"
Warmer weather. Better recuriting opportunities. A lot better support from the school in terms of program budget. Also, Saban isn't going to be at Bama too much longer. That conference is going to be wide open again. |

Wisconsin is probably at it's zenith right now and the cupboard for next year isn't exactly stocked. Urban Meyer is just getting started at tOSU. Arkansas had a down year and has big upside. Nick Saban has been at Alabama for a while and won multiple championships. This is more about timing and opportunism than anything else. |

Bielema may or may not by the answer, but damn is he surrounding himself with a prime coaching staff. Hires so far:
OC: Jim Chaney (Tenn) OL Coach: Sam Pittman (Tenn) DC: Chris Ash (Wisconsin). Pretty exciting so far.
