Not at all. Barkley has struggled for most of this year though. Just throwing that out there really to highlight your point. Every QB is going to have bad games. When evaluating them, you ned to see what they consistently do wrong and then determine if it can be corrected.

That said, USC has some serious flaws. The loss of scholarships is really hitting them hard this year and they've clearly not ascended. Barkley will be fine. Much like Matt Ryan, he's somewhat of a product of those around him. I don't know nearly enough about Smith to say the same but to date, I am supremely unimpressed with CP's latest obsession. |

He's thrown 102 passes and 39 interceptions. He's not a one year starter like Sanchez or a NO YEAR starter like Cassel. I think he compares favorably at this point to Matty Ryan, although USC has their biggest test ahead, Bowl season and of course, the Combines ahead. The final determination of Barkley is still in play. |

Heading into the season, Barkley was the considered the best QB in the country and I haven't seen anything to change that so far, even though he's had some "bad" games. IMO, the guy that was hurt the most was Wilson. Petrino made him look like a superstar, so in a way, that may be a blessing in disguise, although I do think he has potential. I wouldn't touch Bray right now with a 30 foot pole. Again, it's early and IMO, really too early to be making any sort of judgments about the #1 or #2 overall pick. |

To this point in the NFL, he's been exactly what several people thought he would be - steady but unspectacular. Surround by superior talent, he hasn't managed to win a single playoff game. Matt Ryan has a chance to erase all of those worries this season. But what if this is his ceiling? My worry with Barkley is that he just doesn't have "it". I guess beggars can't be choosers. |

What is IT? Not being a wise guy. I know your favorite is Geno, so what does he have that is IT?

What I see in Barkley is a guy that has a really low ceiling for a top-rated QB. He doesnt' have the "clutch" stuff that just makes you say wow. What he is is solid and steady. Which is great if you want to recreate what the Falcons or Chargers have done the last few years. Myself, I want to win a Super Bowl and Barkley just doesn't seem to have that spark of being able to take a team on his back and will them to a win. |

Matt Ryan was/is a strong leader. Barkley hasn't shown that yet. He's not Matt Ryan. He doesn't have that kind of command. I see people taking the most important qualitites for granted way too much around here lately.

That kind of stuff we'll just have to leave up to coaches or scouts who have had close contact with them. |
