I signed up for e-letters, texts -- for discounts and promotions for airfare AND hotel stays for Vegas.
I've gotten one from the Luxor for 50% off "tower rooms." A couple of questions. Are these the rooms at the very top of the pyramid? I'm assuming it is (meaning a smaller room) but, if it is I wouldn't be too upset with the smaller room. We wouldn't be in the room too much anyway. Is it a good deal? |

The towers are the 2 black buildings to the left of the pyramid.

More info here.
http://www.luxor.com/hotel/hotel_tower_deluxe_room.aspx Looks decent enough. Keep in mind that other than Excalibur and Mandalay Bay, which are connected by a tram, it will be a long haul walking to any other casino on the strip.

I stayed at the Mandalay Bay last year. How'd I not notice the towers on the other side of the Luxor? |

Allegiant air for flight. Priceline for hotels. I've gambled enough to where I don't pay for my rooms when I come and visit. In fact I got 2 free nights at the cosmo and 3 free nights at the bellagio.

I'm telling you man, if you want to get there on the cheap, search out the best credit card sign up bonuses and take advantage. You have plenty of time.

monte carlo is the best value i think. room price is very reasonable. its not brand new or fancy but its right in the heart of the strip within walking of everything, rooms are ok (clean, again not fancy but who cares im only in the room to SSS and get a couple of z's) dealers are cool, tables arent too high, poker room is nice. i pretty much always end up here unless my wife wants something a little extra fancy

So in my opinion, don't feel that Luxor is too far away, and bypass a great deal. |

I could seriously enjoy walking up and down the strip with a drink in my hand. I would be perfectly content. The night I arrived we actually walked from Mandalay Bay to the Hooters casino for the worst .25 wings I've ever had. |

right now you can sign up for an SPG Business card (doesn't matter if you don't have a business) and get 30k SPG points, which should be enough for at least one night in a nice Starwood hotel (The Westin or The Element). You can sign up for a Southwest Airlines card and pay a $85 annual fee and get 2 free RT tickets. You can sign up for several various cards for Hilton points. Some of these do require "spends" to get the points, but there are some ways around that that don't really cost you a thing.

Thanks Mikey.
That's all really good information to have. I will pass it on to my girlfriend and we will go from there. It is nice planning this vacation a year in advance. Appreciate it man. |
