I'll admit you guys looked good. Offense moved the ball. Hillis was a beast. Your D looked good and blitzed more than I expected. Now I was interested in Poe and he was getting pushed around a lot by second teamers. The Cardinals are a 5 win team too.

Late in the game when we were mostly running it out there were some tackles for loss when the defense blew through the line. He did a good job with the 1st and 2nd units...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Draughn played a few snaps with the 1's, almost all the 2's, and maybe a snap or two with the 3's. Most of those no gains were with the 2's.

This is why preseason is stupid.

Quote:
Peyton Manning 4-7 for 47 with 1 INT;
Philip Rivers 3-5 for 37-yards with 1 TD & 1 INT;
& Matt Freaking Cassel 5-6 for 64-yards with 1 TD (2 of 2 on scoring drives)... #ComeAtMeBro

I know it's just the first preseason game, and I shouldn't get excited, but damnit I am. That was a great looking first unit out there. The running game will benefit from having a back who isn't washed up splitting carries with Jamaal, and the defense will benefit from having a much better push up front. The pass rush was amazing, especially most teams dial it down a bit for the preseason. If this game was a sign of things to come, no one is safe.

I stand corrected then.

I guess.

The only thing that matters is how individual players look and if you do or don't seem organized as a team.

Everything will be bland with a few sparklers and cheap fireworks but they're all saving for the main event.

But you can clearly tell that Romeo wants us to come out the gate guns blazing.

I don't think he's preaching that we have to win the game. I think he's preaching that the first team has to win the first quarter. Ours vs. theirs.

2nd team has to win the 2nd quarter. That's your job. If you want to earn it or keep it this is your time.

2nd half is just a stone soup of people and you're expected to stand out.

And yet if Cassel had gone 3-10 for 16 yards and a pick, you wouldn't be saying it's meaningless, you'd use it as more proof of Cassel's sucktasticness. That's all I'm saying.

It's not Cassel's stats, you moron. It's comparing him to elite QBs using preseason stats.

Please. You wouldn't hesitate to use preseason stats to prove some idiotic point.

Well, it's not an idiotic point to say Cassel isn't, and never will be, as good as Manning or Rivers.

So making that point is extremely idiotic, using any stat.

What "point" was the trying to make?

Seems to me that he was just posting division stats.
