You aren't trying to do the other method that requires you to go into root and type your own commands are you?

did you install Swype? I got the APK, and installed it, but cannot get it to work. I have a keyboard losted as "NI Keyboard" under input methods but that's not it. Swypw just isn't showing despite being installed.

Yeah, I just ran the file. Did you set your app management to run "unknown sources"?
