Hahaha. Sorry it didn't work out for you, Buck, but it was a movie with a twist.

OA names best Southern Movie of 2010 (and lists a bunch of good ones). Follow the link if you want to see actual embedded clips of the movies.
http://www.oxfordamerican.org/articl...rn-movie-2010/ This past weekend, at the fourth annual LITTLE ROCK FILM FESTIVAL, we here at THE OXFORD AMERICAN had the honor of doling out THE OXFORD AMERICAN AWARD FOR BEST SOUTHERN FILM. Below is the introduction OA editor Marc Smirnoff gave at the Film Festival Gala on Sunday, June 6 at the Clinton Presidential Library. Below the words you’ll find trailers for all the movies mentioned. We sincerely recommend that you watch the movies in question. Here is what Smirnoff said: “For my part, as one of the judges of THE OXFORD AMERICAN’s inaugural Best Southern Film Award, I would be happy with any of the different pictures winning: WINTER’S BONE, which is artistic and riveting. CITIZEN ARCHITECT, which challenges viewers to confront their belief systems. PASSENGER PIGEONS, which is multilayered, original, and full of subtle surprises. RACING DREAMS, which delves seamlessly into matters of class, family, obsession, love, and gender. Oh yeah—and racing. AMERICAN: THE BILL HICKS STORY, which is the story of one man’s passionate and articulate struggle to find meaning and deliverance. The man in question, by the way, happened to be very, very, very funny. I am used to being confident and making snap decisions. But this was a very hard choice for me as I think it was for the other judges. In fact, it was so hard that next year I will advise the Festival powers-that-be to select crappier Southern movies just to make our jobs easier. That said, the winner of THE OXFORD AMERICAN’S BEST SOUTHERN FILM AWARD, which comes with a heavy rooster [see award] and $10,000, is AMERICAN: THE BILL HICKS STORY, directed by Matt Harlock and Paul Thomas.” By the way, the LITTLE ROCK FILM FESTIVAL was, in our estimation, a complete success. For film and culture buffs, the event must now be considered can’t-miss. We were honored to have a role in it. —THE EDITORS

I got ahold of Things to do in Denver When You're dead. I had seen part of it when I was in High School and always wanted to see the whole thing. I have no I idea what put a burr in my ass, but I watched it again.
****ing great movie. It was very well acted, for what it was IMO. I really enjoyed Walken's, Anwar's, Garcia's, and Lloyd's performances. And holy cow balls that movie was deep as shit. Really makes a guy think.
Spoiler!
If you haven't seen this movie, do it. Yesterday. |

Just watched Zombieland with Woody Harrelson and Michael Cera, er, Jamey Eisenberg. It also had Emma Stone, who I officially have a crush on at this point. Very entertaining movie. Slightly distracted by Eisenberg playing as Cera, but oh well.

"Exit Through the Gift Shop" is the frontrunner for documentary of the year. If it is in fact a documentary, that is.
