I think it's a reasonable reaction for a man that found out his best friend of 40 years is a cylon, who fell in love with a woman who's dying of cancer, who's watching his ship fall apart around him, who's hoping people that were not so long ago mortal enemies are able to repair it.
The episodes have been action light, but the story this season is about everything falling apart, from the ships to the crews to their preconceptions about themselves and their enemies. Some depressing shit if you stop to think about it. It's not going to end with hugs and dancing, I'd bet. |

"Imagine there were only 5 of you left, out of the billions that lived on the colonies". Good take...it's all about: ...Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world, The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere The ceremony of innocence is drowned; The best lack all conviction, while the worst Are full of passionate intensity.

How the hell are they going to wrap this up in three episodes? I really hope it's not some mass execution/death scene with the final five surviving in some colony/stasis thing. That would just seem cheap, for lack of a better word. However, all of this has happened before, and it will all happen again, right? Or will Kara Thrace make sure that cycle is broken?
Heh, I was actually rooting for something to get blown up. I think I've had enough buildup; give me the punchline. |

Found this posted over at Ragnar Anchorage, and thought it was amusing enough to share:
There seems to be little doubt that wherever this Colony is, that Cavil moved, will become the new home of whatever humans and Cylons survive the series finale. So here's my bold prediction (drumroll please)... The Colony will turn out to be The Island on "Lost," in May 1979. *The BSG human and Cylon survivors will become the new Others. *Cavil and Ben Linus, realizing they're kindred spirits -- given their shared passion for manipulation, sadism, power and influence -- will join forces, while Adama, Tigh and Starbuck will side with Charles Widmore, bonding over their affinity for hard liquor and vintage ships. *Hurley falls hard for Caprica 6 and teaches her how to be comfortable saying "Dude" on a regular basis. *Sawyer will salivate at seeing all the new arrivals that he'll have the opportunity to nickname *Meanwhile, on the love front: Sawyer falls for Starbuck, who falls for Jack, who falls for Tory, who falls for Locke, who falls for Ellen, who falls for Sayid, who falls for Boomer, who's still in love with the Chief, who falls for Juliet, who falls for catatonic Sam, who attracts the interest of Kate, who still can't decide between Sawyer and Jack. *It takes Jin and Sun and Rose and Bernard, the voices of reason, to unite Widmore, Linus and everyone else to realize that their single most important task is to get off the island, head to Hollywood and do everything within their power to make sure "Galactica 1980" never sees the light of day. *So they build a huge raft modeled after the Galactica, packing inside it Tom Zarek's dead body with a pair of dead Starbuck's shoes and set sail for ABC Studios. *When everyone arrives there, little do the studio execs realize these folks are carrying with them and will unleash the Smoke Monster! *In the end, everyone's confused about where they are, when they are and what they are an completely unclear on the mysteries of destiny, fate and the meaning of life, but who cares? The big thing is, "Galactica 1980" doesn't get made.

I'll be out of town and unable to watch. Unless I get really bored before then and watch it online, I'm planning on watching them all on the 20th.

The "Extended Cut" for the DVD set may run as long as 4+ hours, according to some of the things I've read.

I've avoided reading anything about the finale like the plague.
