Intresting Fact
I saw this on the Crudinals game last night,

On June 8, 1979 - The Royals drafted both Dan Marino and John Elway. Both were coming out of high school. Marino in the 4th round and Elway in the 19th.

FYI - Also they drafted Deion Sanders out of high school as well in the 80's.

The Royals were drafting football players better than the Chiefs in the late 70's and 80's.

I always thought it was a reasonable strategy when the Cowboys would draft non-football athletes in the 12th round. The odds of a football player making the team are no lower than the odds of a guy like Carl Lewis taking up football.

Hell, they could have had Elway if they would have gone to the Colts with similar deal that Denver offered. Maybe offer Blackledge, a draft pick and boom.
