What's your favorite board game?

My son is getting older and we're able to play games that the wife and I can play. Right now we're on a Monopoly kick. What are some good fun board games you guys enjoy. I heard Apples to Apples is fun as well, might give it a try.

Catan and Pandemic are the two at the top of my list, currently.

Hmm, horror...Betrayal at House on the Hill is a good one. You go into a house with your group and somewhere along the line one of you is found out to be the bad guy. From then on they are trying to keep you in the house while the rest of the group is frantically trying to escape.
Eww I saw that one! hmm... Thank you Hydrae!

Played the "What Do You Meme?" game on NYE with a group of people.

It's like Cards Against Humanity except w/ popular/viral meme flashcards.

And because of Chiefsplanet....I was a pro at it.

Thank you, Chiefsplanet.

I enjoy playing trivia type games and Catchphrase a lot.

I also like playing Porno Password with your mom.

Monopoly is always fun....bought it for Nintendo Switch for $10, fun with a group of people and kids will want to play it w/ the joycons.

I think Game of Thrones Catan is the best Catan.

We've had a blast playing both seasons of Pandemic Legacy, we like season 1 better.

Another good one is GloomHaven. If you want a legacy type game that lasts a long time.

Nope. I loved it as a kid and would still play it now if offered. Fun, simple game.

Played this one time with friends. It's pretty deep. We played a very watered down version and it took several hours. But it was a blast.

My gripe there is the time required - but I love D&D and still would, but it sucks up too much time. There's a comic book store where I talked to a kid that worked their about D&D (which they stocked) and he'd indicated they have a meet once a week there, on premise. I went on to ask him about horror based comics, some light bulb went off in his head and he looked at me with a disturbed look on his face and wen't on and on about this comic book called "Jeff" or maybe he's a character inside that story - but that little dude was super strange - I was scared for my life for a few minutes.

Yes. Arkham Horror. It's a "you against the game" system which is loosely based on Lovecraft/Cthulu.

https://www.amazon.com/FFG-FFGAHB01-...=arkham+horror

It is very complex and takes a while to play, but hella fun. You're trying to beat the game before you die or go insane.

Faster and simpler, but with the same theme, is the hard game.

Loved Pandemic Legacy! Great concept. But I agree, Season 1 was better although it was interesting how they carried the story through to Season 2. Some of the new mechanics in 2 were a little confusing at times.

Then there is Pandemic: Cthulu which could lend to a little horror to the game but in general I have found it to be simpler than regular Pandemic.
