Meaningless statistic. What is average age of starters? If that is oldest ever, then you'll have something. Several old guys are deep bench players.

The Silver and Black Today radio show became Raider Nation’s Sunday morning therapy session as we discussed the big news of the Khalil Mack trade and what it means for the Raiders moving forward.

Former NFL general manager and player personnel executive Michael Lombardi of The Athletic joined us to give us his insight on why the deal is better for the Raiders than most think. He also stated it was the right move if Jon Gruden is following a philosophy similar to Bill Belichick in New England.

Yeah, the Belicheck method only works because Belicheck has the greatest QB of all time on the offensive side of the ball. He can afford to let lower caliber players that want too much money go, like Collins. Mack isn't that player. I'm pretty sure if Mack was on the Patriots he would've signed the lucrative extension. Belicheck has proven in the past with players like Revis if you're a generational talent he'll pay you.

He said it like it was, didn't sugar coat it ...

It's hard to have 2 players on your team that are the highest or close to the highest paid players at their position and said Chicago is enjoying Tibusky's rookie contract and the Rams are too.

Some of the younger fans can't and won't understand how you can't mortgage a team for the next 7 years and still bring back other players on your team. Mack made it clear he wasn't going to play so the team made a move.

I am fine with it, Liked him, wanted him here but it's a business and to pay him that kind of money would have made us a shit defense for the next 7 years overall, he would have done great 10-15 sacks a year but that won't stop the quick passes for large gains and damn sure won't improve the secondary and with him their would be no money to do it.

Sorry but Mack is an elite level pass-rusher. Ken Norton being a shitty DC, and having a shitty secondary, doesn't mean anything to the loss they just took. It's a poor attempt to try and reason with the stupid move your dumb coach just made.

He's a guy that you have to find a way to pay. The Raiders are ****ing dumbasses for not giving him what he wanted. You keep elite caliber players that are just entering their prime....no matter what.

That dog dont hunt. If the situation was reversed and the Raiders gave up 2 future 1st round picks and agreed to pay $95 million dollars money for a pass rusher without having a proven offense......they would be mocked as "the same old Al Davis Raiders"......
