Novice lifting can last anywhere from a few months to a year or two, depending on how hard you hit the weights and where you started. Once you've reached the point where you don't make regular progress on the SS program, you are ready to move on to the intermediate stage, which can last you for a good number of years. Go ahead but as one great lifter/writer put it, too many guys in the gym are "majoring in the minors." Focus instead on compound lifts, which don't work a "particular muscle" but large groups of muscles. Add weight to the bar when you can, get stronger on squats, bench, deads and overhead presses. Your entire body will respond. You'll lose more fat and build more muscle. I never really "concentrate on a muscle." I'll do some isolation finishing work at times but that's about it. If your workouts are about isolating a muscle to "feel it," you're neglecting strength and that's simply wrong.

Intermittent fasting is great in so many ways. From the little research I have done it is best to consume all calories an an 8 hour window so that you have 16 hours of your fasting window.

I generally have a 4-5 hour eating window. But the circadian fast places that window in the day (with sunset being the stop point). I usually fast from 10pm until 6pm the next day. Also, circadian defines breaking fast as intake of anything other than water. So as soon as you drink coffee (which I do daily while fasting) , then you've started your eating window. So when you have a cup of coffee at 5:00am, you have 10 hours. Meaning must be done for day by 3pm. Meaning no drinks or cocktails.
