What if Smith gets hurt?

I think most sane fans want Mahomes to sit behind Smith for a year. If Smith were to get hurt do you scrap the plan and play the rookie or ride it out with Bray and hope he plays well and turns into trade bait?

It's just bullshit. For four years we were told how awful people here were for the way they acted in regards to the QB.

Now the tables have turned and it's the same shit.

I just hope I am at the game so I can listen as arrowhead gives him the same warm farewell as Cassel.

This year with Alex I can hope for a 11-5 season and a home wild card win over Tennessee or Indy before getting blown out by Pitt or NE. AND I WON"T EVEN BE MAD! Cause it's Mahomes time after that my friends.

Where did I cheer for the Chiefs to bottom out? I simply laid out what happened with SF.

The Chiefs situation is very different from what happened there. You don't have Reid & FO bsing Smith about anything. Hell, he was part of the process in getting Mahomes. He's also in a different place in his career, as someone has already mentioned before, I don't think Smith is far from retiring. If anything it's likely that he won't play elsewhere after KC and, if he decides he wants to continue with football in another capacity, will probably turn into a QB coach/assistant.

My only true gripe about the Mahomes trade and pick was the fact that, in making that move, the Chiefs passed up on the chance to do something better (get Foster, a day 1 impact player, while still having a chance to get a similar developmental prospect in Kizer on day 2. Logically, that would have been the smarter move for improving the team overall while, at the same time, netting a potential QBOTF, particularly if you didn't have Mahomes rated that much higher than Kizer).

I think the Chiefs sign a cheap, veteran backup.

No way they'd trot Bray out there to play any meaningful snaps, IMO. And I think it's clear that Mahomes won't see snaps the first year either.

Have you seen anyone wish the same on Mahomes? No.

According to who? You?

Logically, they had Mahomes rated as the best QB, pretty highly above the rest.

Yes, making sure you get an inferior prospect at QB is definitely the right decision.

For 4 years, it's been "trust Dorsey, Trust Reid, they're showing you what they want". Well, now they're doing that and it's wrong.

It's pretty transparent as to the reason for what all the shit before was.

And yeah, there are idiots here who are cheering on injuries to players. Thats pretty terrible.
