Above all the thing that Rogue One most certainly got right was spaceships pew-pew'ing each other.
The battle over the Shield Gate was great and looked just like the Alliance fleet was going to come away with acceptable losses... until the Devastator showed up and skull****ed the Profundity and one unnamed Nebulon-B frigate.

Dunno exactly what ILM did, but making the CGI spaceships look like physical models was a yuge improvement over the prequel battles (aside maybe from Episode I.. aside from the ridiculousness of kid Anakin )

The technological limitations of the OT are it's saving grace. It's amazing what a storyteller has to focus on when he can't just cram a bunch of digital horse shit in to the frame, yes?
Yes.

No, the "Lucas one who sucks the penis" is the absolute ****ing moron who believes that just because you have a digital tool to play with, you should throw taste and the impact of legitimate storytelling out the window so that you can cram as much useless digital horse shit in to a frame as possible, so that queer-assed fanbois can fill their ****ing drool buckets to the brim for 90 minutes.

Are we really arguing about whether the redeeming qualities of the prequels?
Ewan McGregor and Ian Mcdiarmid acted their asses off. That's it. |

Have any of you ever watched the Red Letter Media review of Phantom Menace? It's as long as the movie, but infinitely more entertaining. The reviewer absolutely skewers Darth Lucas, and one of the best ways he does it is point out the differences between the lean, hungry young director and the bloated billionaire douche that consumed him.
Here's a link to Part 1 of 7. If you like this, you'll like them all. http://redlettermedia.com/plinkett/s...hantom-menace/ |

There's no cherry picking in Attack of the Clones. It's the worst Star Wars movie ever.
