30 FPS locked by the developers, not by PC hardware.
Another example of consoles ruining games. The developer stated the reason they did that so that everything was 'even' meaning they didn't want to release a better version on PC and risk alienating console customers (who have shitty hardware/software/developers) that have no choice but bad framerates. Another shitty console port, afterthought to a better platform, because consoles are easier to squeeze every last drop of blood from the customer, all while having a lower standard the games have to live up too. Serious question here: if PC sales are so much better than consoles why are consoles the preferred choice for devs? Why are ports shitty on pc? |

They are the proffered choice for SOME PUBLISHERS, (I would think you have to be hard pressed to find a large number of actual developers that would argue that PC isnt just a better platform for development purpose) because they can charge more money for less product, period. That manifests itself in a ton of ways. It also gives them access to, frankly, a demographic that is more willing to give up money. This is because the users have been conditioned in exactly the way publishers want order to squeeze the most dollars out of them per player. Once again, this dynamic is created by how the consoles are locked down so that the end user has no creative, administrative, or any other sort of power over the hardware and software environment. PC games are held to a higher standard, and the competition is far more fierce. With end users having much more choice in how, when, and what games they play. And that's why Mafia 3 is being shit on in the PC world. Its another developer trying to sneak stupid bullshit past a very savvy audience, that demands a higher quality game for the money. |

Frame rate patch is now live.
The patch literally only unlocks the frame rate. it did nothing else. |

Love the game so far. Haven't played a ton of it recently due to school.

So, I guess it's all patched up. The storyline and graphics are both great from what I've seen.
That being said, I guess the first two hours are wonderful. Then you have to grind in a very repetitive "Far Cry/Ubisoft" fashion to open up the story further. You have to clear several portions of the map by doing the same mission over and over, there's no fast-travel and the execution animations are all the same. Basically, this is just another open world GTA wanna be that is another assassins creed clone. However, the soundtrack is pretty good, I guess. |
